Restaurant description

Less than a minute from Waterloo Station, GBK Waterloo showcases tasty burgers at affordable prices. A spot by the tall glass facade is great for people watching and premium drinks are served at the bar.

Launched back in 2001 by 3 Kiwis, GBK offers a premium burger concept which sees over 10,000 burgers served up to its diners each day: always made fresh and cooked to order. Hand-crafted patties make up the varied GBK menu, with adventurous favourites including The Don and The Taxi Driver. Lamb, falafel and buffalo options mean even the most ardent burger buffs are catered for, and there's a lengthy list of fries and sides.

Salted caramel, peanut butter and banana are just some of the mind-meltingly good milkshakes at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and thirst-quenching soft drinks are also served. Wines can be enjoyed by the glass, and there’s a good stock of cherry-picked international beers.

Offering tasty treats to London diners, GBK in Waterloo is a 6-minute walk from Southwark Tube Station.

Booked a table for two. When we arrived we were seen promptly however they did not have a table for us and placed us on a large round table in the middle that seated 5/6 persons. When we asked to be moved they said they did not have tables available. This was not a last minute booking so I was surprised. The staff were friendly but the service was not the best. My daughter ordered her meal on the app due to the queue at the tills before I got up to order my meal at the cashier. My meal arrived quite a while before hers.

Staff members were very welcoming and explained everything clearly and also talked about the menu and specials on the menu. The food was very tasty and I’m a particular fan of the lemonade and the Belgian double chic milk shake. This GBK is also very handy for my partner and I as we can get a quick bite before going to the theatre nearby! Look forward to visiting again soon.

Service wasn’t good, food was poorly presented and undercooked. Cheese was not melted in burger

The "All Rounder" meal deal is a great vale for the money. The grilled chicken sandwich was excellent; juicy and not dried out. The restaurant is in a great proximity to the The Old Vic Theatre. Will be coming back to this location for dinner before the Theater.

Great burgers and cheerful service. Nice buzz at the branch. Bruce Leek burger good if you're happy with some spice. Very handy location for Old Vic and Young Vic theatres.

Top tip: if you're not absolutely ravenous, but still want a full meal, ask for the kids menu. For £7, you get a burger, side and drink! I do it every time and it more than fills me up.
