GBK Edinburgh is the first restaurant of the chain that made inroads in Scotland. This small dining venue is a great place for people-watching through the floor-to-ceiling windows and guests can also enjoy a great selection of drinks at the bar.
Launched back in 2001 by 3 Kiwis, GBK offers a premium burger concept which sees over 10,000 burgers served up to its diners each day: always made fresh and cooked to order. Hand-crafted patties make up the varied GBK menu, with adventurous favourites including The Don and The Taxi Driver. Lamb, falafel and buffalo options mean even the most ardent burger buffs are catered for, and there's a lengthy list of fries and sides.
Salted caramel, peanut butter and banana are just some of the mind-meltingly good milkshakes at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and thirst-quenching soft drinks are also served. Wines can be enjoyed by the glass, and there’s a good stock of cherry-picked international beers.
Edinburgh Waverley Station and Scottish National Gallery are within a 6-minute drive from GBK in Edinburgh.

Very impersonal. You have to order through an app or at the bar and there was hardly any interaction with staff. The food itself was tasty and we'll made and the deal presented very good value. Another thing was that the very relaxed atmosphere meant we were able to have a really good catch up with friends without ever feeling pressured to free up the table.

We enjoyed our burger perfectly cooked still moist. Chips crisp and hot. Found the elderflower fizzy drink with mint and lime very refreshing. My first visit and would dine there again.

Restaurant was busy but we had a nice meal at a reasonable pace. It wasn't clear that we needed to go to the bar to order... but after that everything was fine

good restaurant, a bit expensive given the small portions, but good. Overall I would dine there again.

Didn't really need to book as it was about 5pm and plenty of tables available.

Drinks were ordered at the same time as the good however weren't brought until we asked about 10 minutes later & then one drink was forgotten & had to ask again for it to be brought.

We are here with our sons aged 12 and 15. The restaurant itself has a nice but no frills fit out, but service is fast so you don't need to spend the whole evening there. Service was friendly and helpful, you organise your own order and take it to the till and pay before you eat. .i had the basic burger and everyone else had the cheeseburger. They had skinny fries and I had chunky fries. Everyone enjoyed their burgers which were way superior to others in the same vein. The burgers were cooked as asked for and no hint of gristle or fat. As far as the fries go, unless you like them super skinny, stick with the chunky ones which as normal chip size. The kids like a French fry, however they were taken aback at the size of the skinny version. We had the house soft drinks and really enjoyed the Ginger and lemongrass fizz. Hot sauces also worth a good mention. Great nip in for an informal burger, good food, nice juices, friendly staff and handy location.
