One of London's oldest and most respected Indian restaurants, Gaylord Restaurant has been serving exotic recipes since 1966. This traditional, elegant eatery serves all kinds of colourful dishes made using time-honoured techniques, including special menus for little ones.

As well as featuring larger main dishes, the Gaylord Restaurant menu also serves an innovative take on Indian street food dishes, perfect for sharing. Start with signature soft tacos filled with treats like lamb seekh kebab or tender pulled chicken, or the vegetarian potato cakes filled with lentils and aromatic spices. From the tandoori oven there are tiger prawns marinated with saffron, while the signature main options include fiery lamb rogan josh.

Freshly baked breads make perfect accompaniments to any meal at Gaylord Restaurant in Fitzrovia, and there are sumptuous desserts like traditional gulab jamun to finish. On the drinks menu, sample something from the extensive wine and spirits lists, or go for one of the Indian-influenced cocktails.

An elegant Indian restaurant in London with a long history of excellence, Gaylord Restaurant London is just 2 minutes' walk from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

I have dined at Gaylord's mostly taking customers & the food is always exceptional, but unfortunate this time it was the not the case.I was entertaining my VP from the US & my boss & we booked an early table at 6pm, so just when the restaurant opened & were first seated. The next two groups that turned up were then sat right next to us, which is strange given the size of the restaurant, & one group was really noisy, not blaming the restaurant for this.
We ordered two Gin & Tonics & a Coke Zero, which took 10 minutes to arrive & then only one G&T turned up.
The food, which as mentioned is normally great was nowhere near its normal standard, with my bosses lamb dish very oily & my chicken dish quite fatty.
When asked how our meal was at the end we fed this back, but the waiter just gave a weird laugh & walked off as if we ask the question but pay no real attention to the feedback.
This has really put me off visiting Gaylord's after so many years of having a great experience at this restaurant, so in two minds whether to give them one more chance.
Here's hoping that this feedback gets to the restaurant & I would love to hear from them on my comments above.

Environment is good. Good welcome. Food is excellent. The only sad thing is “the amount of food is less compare to the high price (£16 for a dish!!)”. It would be better if this point to be noted and sorted out so that people won’t have chance to say Oh my God price is high.
