Restaurant description
Perched on the banks of the Thames and offering superb river views, Gaucho Richmond offers luxurious South American cuisine. Offsetting the glitzy dining room with its floor-to-ceiling windows, the decked 130-seat terrace is a Gaucho highlight.
A renowned Argentinian steakhouse, Gaucho continues to serve some of the finest beef in the world, now complemented by a broader food and wine offering in a contemporary setting. Taking inspiration from modern Argentina and all of its global influences, fresh ingredients are used to create signature dishes such as steak with a choice of béarnaise or chimichurri sauce, pan-seared bream with pickled fennel and dill, and wild mushroom tagliatelle with Torrontés cream and tarragon.
Desserts at Gaucho in London are equally enticing, whilst classic and signature cocktails are joined by an impressive selection of wines from South America and beyond. Contemporary and edgy, Gaucho restaurants feature swathes of plush leather in dramatically decorated dining rooms.
In upmarket Richmond-upon-Thames, Gaucho steak house also boasts views of Richmond Bridge and Petersham Meadows from its chic cocktail bar.

Staff always so welcoming and friendly. There was a mix up with one of the food orders, which was not a problem and was resolved - the staff made a point of being very apologetic.

Lovely, attentive staff, perfect location and great food & wine. It was a little noisy, as there are many tables quite close to each other (we dined at 19:30 on a Saturday though).

Went here for my birthday, first class standard the moment I walked in the door, reception taking a coat, greetings, welcome, water filled up continually despite the restaurant being very busy, lovely atmosphere, steak was absolutely superb, complimentary bread , The Argentinian wine and Prosecco were lovely, Ivan the waiter was exceptional, we doubled his tip as it made the evening special. Lovely atmosphere very good bargain at this price, however my adult children said they would happily return and pay full price for the meal which they thought was brilliant. A pretty plate with truffles and a candle saying happy birthday and swirly chocolate was presented which is such a sweet touch.

We had Sunday lunch for 4 people, on a specially advertised 3 courses set menu by the Thames at Richmond.. Although the choices were fairly limited the food was very good and we all had an enjoyable experience. The only criticism we felt was there were too many tables in the restaurant to be fully comfortable with diners and waiters brushing past us. It was Sunday lunch and I suppose they were making the most of it.
