Brimming with Argentinean charm, Gaucho Piccadilly is housed in the old wine cellars of the Mexican ambassador. This expansive restaurant stretches over 4 floors, with an exclusive wine boutique in the original vaulted cellars.

Taking inspiration from vibrant South American culture, the Gaucho menu foregrounds a robust array of flavours. Fresh, natural ingredients are used to compile favourite dishes, like bream fillets with crispy ham and a fennel and orange salad, or the signature Gaucho burger with zesty chutney.

Within the splendour of the opulent dining room at Gaucho restaurant in Piccadilly, guests can enjoy a sophisticated wine or grappa sourced from Argentina. With a contemporary edginess, a mass of plush black leather and rich cowhide stools litter the dining room, all offset by the impressive glint of the chandeliers.

In a landmark area of the capital, Gaucho restaurant in London blends authentic customs with cosmopolitan luxury. Piccadilly Circus Tube Station is just a 5-minute walk away.

Special menu was excellent value and food very good, with friendly service. We were shown to an awful table even though the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived . We finally were seated at a better table. Sadly we were asked to vacate after two hours even though again there were loads of empty tables and no-one appeared to be waiting. I normally avoid restaurants with this policy and will not be returning.

We opted for the set menu and sadly apart from the steak we were not impressed by the food. Our sauces were cold. The roquette that was served with the starters was overly salted and inedible. The starters were bland and tasteless. The lemon tart for dessert was actually a lemon meringue and not very lemony at all. We were very disappointed with the food and it was all very mass produced and bland.

We had the set menu, not overly keen on the starters but the steaks were AMAZING, really outstanding. And the Churros for dessert were a tasty end.

Nit so keen on the starter
Steak and sauce were really lovely. Chips a bit limp.
Gin to die for! Excellent wine. Also excellent advice on wine. Exceptional service all round.

We enjoyed our experience was good atmosphere. Food was good, first time we have been to the Piccadilly branch.

The food was lovely although miss the old chips, chips were still good but preferred the old skinny fries. First time we have done the set menu and was no compromise on the food.

A couple of down sides, the toilets are tiny, not sure if you had others but there was only 2 women's cubicles and the doors are ridiculously heavy to get in and out.

It felt a little rushed as soon as we ate last mouthful of bread the starters appeared, then as soon as we put our fork down from starter the main appeared.

Also the woman on the desk, she wasn't wearing uniform like the other staff a white shirt. She was very rude to a member of staff right in front of us thought it wasn't fair to put him down in such a patronising way in front of other colleagues and customers, she was huffing and puffing on the phone obviously waiting for it to be answered. Didn't give a great first impression but all of the other staff more than made up for her by being friendly and helpful.

I have dined here before and everything was perfect, the ambiance, staff, and food.
On this occasion there was not the same attentive staff and I knew more about the menu then the staff member, but this was rectified quickly. The main disappointment was the food. I normally have steak which is the best, on this occasion I had chicken as it was lunchtime and I wanted a lighter meal. It was dry and uneventful.
I would done again in gauchos but would stick to the steak.

It was a great experience overall, all food was great quality, the service was impeccable and there was a nice ambience in the restaurant. Definitely my favourite Gaucho in London.
