Restaurant description

Cowhide-covered chairs, black leather walls and chandeliers add a chic flair to Gaucho Hampstead. Rare wines from Argentina, cocktails, and even cigars can be ordered from the bar. The outdoor barbeque and terrace feature an automatic canopy for unexpected weather.

A renowned Argentinian steakhouse, Gaucho continues to serve some of the finest beef in the world, now complemented by a broader food and wine offering in a contemporary setting. Taking inspiration from modern Argentina and all of its global influences, fresh ingredients are used to create signature dishes such as steak with a choice of béarnaise or chimichurri sauce, pan-seared bream with pickled fennel and dill, and wild mushroom tagliatelle with Torrontés cream and tarragon.

Desserts at Gaucho in London are equally enticing, whilst classic and signature cocktails are joined by an impressive selection of wines from South America and beyond. Contemporary and edgy, Gaucho restaurants feature swathes of plush leather in dramatically decorated dining rooms.

Argentinean flair and hospitality is served up at Gaucho in Hampstead, just a 1-minute walk from Hampstead Tube Station.

As expected steak was fantastic and even 1/2 chicken was too large to finish.

This wasn't our first time here and as always the service was impeccable. Staff were very helpful and attentive. We ordered the Sunday lunch with 2 courses. The arancini was delicious and the roast beef Sunday lunch was a dream. Only downfall was the beef was too marbled with fat and more on the rare side.

as usual the food was fabulous however the service was poor, scatty and pretty painful. We were sent to the bar as our table was not ready, had to Q for drinks, then went to be seated, walked halfway through the restaurant, then told to turn back as it wasn't ready...when a table was found the hostess said "lucky I found this table for you!"...hmmm well no, we booked and we are already 30 mins waiting to be seated. everything took ages, from order taking etc so we ended up eating very late, I asked to take half my steak home and was given a plastic box, but no had to carry it through the restaurant - all a bit low rent. Thankfully the food was excellent - but staff are very dim.

My fave restaurant! It was brilliant as always. Great for romance and kid friendly with delicious menu.

Excellent service, excellent meat, perfect chips. An accidental piece of green bean in a broccoli side order made me fear careless serving. Apart from that, thanks perhaps to the excessive darkens of the place, we couldn't see anything else wrong.

OK, but very expensive for what it is. Service and atmosphere good. Steaks just OK, nothing to write home about plus you get charged for all the accompaniments. This might be OK given London prices but disappointed with poor value for money.
