A short stroll away from Edinburgh Castle, in renowned St. Andrew’s Square, Gaucho showcases Argentinian steaks, made from Black Angus cattle fed on Pampmas grass. Guests can relax and unwind in a luxurious setting with leather booths and flamboyant decor.
A renowned Argentinian steakhouse, Gaucho continues to serve some of the finest beef in the world, now complemented by a broader food and wine offering in a contemporary setting. Taking inspiration from modern Argentina and all of its global influences, fresh ingredients are used to create signature dishes such as steak with a choice of béarnaise or chimichurri sauce, pan-seared bream with pickled fennel and dill, and wild mushroom tagliatelle with Torrontés cream and tarragon.
Desserts at Gaucho in Edinburgh are equally enticing, whilst classic and signature cocktails are joined by an impressive selection of wines from South America and beyond. Contemporary and edgy, Gaucho restaurants feature swathes of plush leather in dramatically decorated dining rooms.
In the heart of the city, Gaucho Edinburgh is a 5-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverly Rail Station.

Food was very good but had to wait in the bar area for over 30mins for our table to be ready, only to be informed that the nice table we'd been assured had been arranged for my wife's birthday meal wasn't available so we were squeezed in next to another couple instead. The waiter was friendly but not particularly attentive as he was clearly rushed off his feet with other tables. I've enjoyed Gauchos before elsewhere but this time in Edinburgh was a disappointing experience.

Overall the experience was good. The service as always was great and the ambience was lovely. However my steak was really overdone - medium and it was well-well done, however as I had waited a while on it I didn't send it back, but I did point it out to the waiter and he sent the maitre d over and he agreed. Wouldn't stop me going back, but I'm not sure how a steak restaurant can cook a steak incorrectly.

We had the best steaks ever! There was a DJ playing in the background which added to the experience for us, could not fault anything

We have been to Gaucho many times as the food, wine, service and whole experience is great. There was a mix up with our order this time, but it was put right quickly with apologies and offer of free coffees or drinks.
