Met two friends here for Saturday lunch. Staff very welcoming. Excellent set menu offer. We were all very happy with our choices plus our glass of prosecco. Other wines on offer quite expensive but managed to find a small carafe of Southern French wine for £25 which worked well for 3 of us. Tables re quite close together but fortunately it was not totally full so it was easy to talk. I was surprised that it was not busier as it is close to Spitalfields Market but we did eat an early lunch. Would certain go again.

Great food in a busy restaurant at lunchtime. Slightly crowded but I can’t begrudge them that - it was a few days before a Christmas!

We had the set lunch meal. The choice was limited, but the food was very high quality and very good value. My roast cod was excellent. The service was very good and it was a relaxed atmosphere.

Bottomless prosecco deals are always a winner. Food was nice but nothing special, nice staff, lots of prosecco, lovely venue. Worth it for the deal but don't expect high end food.

Too loud and not great service but good food, location and offer

Great meal but unable to supply any French Dijon mustard to accompany meat dishes. Pretty basic request so surprised it was not available.

The food was lovely, but the service was extremely slow ( our food order was taken very late!) We booked at 12.30pm and only finishing after 3.30pm I would absolutely go back there, but they must be faster on the food

We really enjoyed our evening at Galvin Hop. we went for the set menu which is good value. My cauliflower soup was delicous; my partner had the. beetroot salad which he enjoyed (although he would have preferred a bit less leaves and more cheese!). We both had the cod main, supplemented by a couple of extra sides and it was delicous. For pud we had the lemon curd doughnut, which was very good (lemon curd tasted home made and was gorgeous). Staff were so friendly and helpful. Noise levels were fine in the restaurant; it was a bit loud in the bar when it was at its busiest, but what else can you expect? The music was mainly 80s and 90s pop, which was great. Toilets were clean and well stocked with loo paper and good quality soap etc. Music is piped into the toilets too so you can sing along (or is that just me!). If you're a real ale fan, this might not be the place for you. There's a Pilsner on tap and a small selection of bottled and canned beers (mostly 330ml). There's wine on tap and lots of spirits and some cocktails - even some shandies! Drink is on the pricey side, but on a par with the area. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
