Receptionist needs some educating on how to receive guests. "Hello! hello!" from behind when we were already opening the restaurant's inner doors is hardly what is expected from a restaurant of this class. Rather than inviting us to have a pre-lunch drink in the empty lounge bar area, it was suggested we went straight in to the dining room, we arrived at the booked time of 12.30pm. The bar service/cocktails were fine, but we had to ask for the menus after about 10-15 minutes, and again we were invited to go our table before ordering our meals. Service was on the slow side, first course 10 minutes and main course around 30 minutes after the first courses were cleared. All dishes were selected from the set menu (not à la carte). The food was excellent, hot plates well served.

We have dined at La Chapelle before so were excited to find another restaurant that was out of London. We were not disappointed. We were celebrating both our daughters Birthdays and it was our youngest's 21st. After a very warm welcome and even the offer of a group photo, we went to our table and noticed the clean lines and modern decor of the restaurant . There was a lovely view from the picture windows on a beautiful sunny evening. We ordered the set three course menu which was excellent and very good value. All the staff were efficient and friendly and we can't wait to go again!

It was just OK, not what I was expecting from Galvin. At first glance, restaurant is beautifully set overlooking the golf course but downhill from there. Service was mediocre and the food was average. Soup not good, salmon starter was nice. The potatoes in the roast were rock hard, probably left overs from the lunch service. Sticky toffee pudding was not sticky and not enough toffee sauce, more like a cake but also didn't seem freshly prepared. At nearly £50pp for 4 I won't be going back.
