Set in the charming village of Fressingfield in Suffolk, The Fox & Goose restaurant showcases traditional-meets-modern cuisine. This 2 AA Rosette-holding restaurant is featured in both the Michelin and Harden's food guides.

Starters on the Fox & Goose menu might include smoked duck breast with pickled winter vegetables, whilst the wild sea bass with scallop mousse with sherry caramel and Parmesan crumble is a must-try main course.

A mouth-watering array of desserts follow, among which the chocolate and peanut butter mousse with popcorn, salted caramel and caramelised white chocolate sorbet is a favourite. This Grade II-listed setting also features an impressive al fresco area, shaded by the neighbouring greenery.

Featuring a tasting menu and a prized Sunday lunch offering, The Fox & Goose is a diverse dining spot. Bosting many original features, this former guildhall has stood on the site since 1509.

Excellent food, wine and staff. Not sure about the decor or artwork! Deserts were disappointing. I think the pond outside the windows with the fallen concrete steps needs attention.

Dear all at the fox and goose, my friends and i had the most enjoyable sunny lunch together in your company last sunday.
My starter of roast confit of duck salad was sublime, we all had the road rib eye of beef for main and it did not disappoint, every element of the dish had its own flavour to be enjoyed from the glaze on the carrots to the detail of the light char to the cauliflower. and to have pink beef!! what a treat.
Despite being full, it would of been rude not to of enjoyed a pudding!
and as someone who bakes often, desserts can sometimes be a let down.
No fear of that in your dining room. the cheesecake was perfection especially paired with the apricot and thyme sorbet.
The only sadness is that i cannot return sooner.
With thanks to all the staff front of house and in the kitchens creating the magic.
    kind regards
    Lord Max De-fore

The restaurant is 45 miles from our home so it's for special occasions and we're never disappointed. This time was Sue's Birthday and as always tastes were exquisite; we don't normally have 3 courses but can never resist the glorious blends of taste within each course.

We had traditional Sunday lunch, it was very good. No room for a sweet though, next time we might forgo the starter and try the sweet menu because it did look very tempting. I like the way that there was no fuss over me wanting my beef well done, my partner had his medium and there were no complaints . You can get a cheaper lunch but I doubt the quality would match

Our thrice yearly trip to the Fox and Goose did not disappoint An excellent menu with outstanding service and great value should not be too difficult to achieve but the Fox and Goose is one of very few establishments that never disappoint. Undoubtedly our favourite Lunch/Dinner destination in East Anglia

We visit once a year for an anniversary. A major draw is the building dating from 1509- almost unique for domestic building. The building was 150 years old when Oliver Cromwell watered the horses of his Roundhead cavalry at the duckpond outside. The restaurant is friendly and the food distinguished. The expensive wines on the winelist are excellent and can be drunk with confidence Nice staff-voluntarily reserving a carpark space by the front door as I am disabled. A very good evening in all respects
