A beautiful Victorian mansion, Fowey Hall Hotel looks out over the stunning Fowey Estuary, and is said to have inspired Toad Hall in Wind in the Willows. Inside, its 2 AA Rosette-awarded restaurant serves up Cornish-inspired gourmet flavours, as well as classic afternoon teas which can be enjoyed out on the tranquil terrace.

Fresh local flavours abound on the Fowey Hall Hotel menu, with herbs used from the hotel's own garden, and other ingredients taken right from the local beaches. Cornish catch of the day is served with English asparagus, tempura langoustine, Cornish crushed new potatoes and fish velouté, with other hearty recipes including Gelly Farm organic free change chicken, served as roasted breast and confit thigh, with pancetta, herb mash and morel sauce.

Other authentic Cornish produce features at Fowey Hall Hotel in Cornwall, including Camel Valley wines, Tarquin's gin and Skinner's ales. Afternoon teas are an indulgent affair, and include finger sandwiches, fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, delicate pastries, and loose leaf teas.

Catering for children as well, and with fantastic attention to detail throughout, Fowey Hall Hotel is just a 7-minute walk from central Fowey.

Warm welcome. Nicely presented table with lovely clean tablecloth.. limited choice on menu for Sunday lunch but the food was beautifully presented and was delicious.. the desserts were lovely.. service was good .. felt that the staff clothing was abit to casual.. a uniform would look more professional..

Disappointing choice & over priced lunch options. Felt like over visit was an inconvenience. Not offered any drink options without prompting. Overall very poor.

Location beautiful, food - starters all lovely - main courses - Roast Lamb, very average, Plaice, underseasoned but good, Pasta, very good. Service was OK, but not great.

Went for an afternoon tea celebration and found the service lacklustre. No-one greeted us on arrival, we had to find our own menus and we had to go any find someone so we could order (30mins aftwr being seated). We then had to remind them to bring our drinks and cream and jam for the scones. Shame as the tea itself was very good and the scones and cakes were delicious. Could easily be the whole experience with better front of house.

Very nice venue but parking is non-existent even for disabled guests so would not visit again. Tea was pleasant enough and good price - cakes a bit stale though!

A very nice afternoon tea, the Art Deco styling of the hotel addd to the experience. A lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches along with a good range of teas and coffees.
