The Modern Grill at Forge & Co Shoreditch is an all-day dining space which takes its inspiration from the grills of early 20th century America. Expect modern British classics with a contemporary twist, cooked with expertly sourced ingredients.

The Forge & Co menu is led by hearty grill dishes. Tuck into a flat iron steak with fries, grilled yellow fin tuna with squid salsa, or the homemade bbq pulled pork burger with smoked cheese, pickles and slaw. Elsewhere on the menu, find lighter bites like the goat’s cheese and spinach filo roll, or a crab salad sandwich with avocado.

Joined by prosecco, the Forge & Co brunch is a Saturday favourite. Start with classics like eggs benedict, gin-cured salmon or poached egg with crushed avocado. Follow this with a signature Forge beef burger, spatchcock poussin or a full English breakfast.

Forge & Co restaurant in London sits in the heart of trendy Shoreditch and is a 5-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street Station.

Service was slow and often we were forgotten about. Little ambience and the music was way too loud for evening dining, more suitable if was just a bar setting. Food wasn't anything to rave about. Happy hour drink prices were bout the only good thing - shame they took so long and weren't even that busy. The facilities were in a poor state and leaving the doors open meant the smoke from staff smoking at the front door drifted into the dining area. Pretty disappointing all round.

The serving staff were very friendly and attentive. The food medicore, my starter and main were brought i at the same time by the assistant manager, when I asked why she said that's the way it's done in a very rude manner! By the the time I got to eat my main it was cold. So didn't enjoy it and didn't finish it! Bizzare serving style.

    - [ ] Entering the location I found it confusing as there was no one at the entrance. I was assuming as they just opened and things where just being adjusted. I made a booking but the restaurant was very quiet, so my booking was somewhat irrelevant and I chose where I wanted to sit. As soon as I sat down I was seen to by one of the servers, he was attentive for a while. Then there seemed to be shift change and then I was served by another person, he was okay but it seemed like he did not want to be there. After eating I asked for the bill, I waited for 20 mins for the bill and it still didn’t come. So I had to leave my seat and find the person that served me to ask fo the bill again. He said he forgot and didn’t apologise, he grabbed a payment machine and asked me to pay. After the transaction was done he said nothing and looked plainly in my face.
    - [ ] This all happened when the restaurant was quiet on a weekday afternoon. This was my first time in Forge & Co and I’m highly considering on not returning unfortunately.

+ On the plus side the food was lovely and the atmosphere is very relaxed

The food was very tasty, great value for money, the hostest was lovely and attentive. Restaurant was clean and smart.

However, about half way through the restaurant had a couple of large tables arrive and all our service went out the window. No one offered us dessert once our plates had been cleared and it took a while to get someone's eye to ask for a menu, we ordered a drink and a cold dessert 3 times (twice to the same server) and waited almost 45mins before it came. Bit of a shame as everything else was lovely.

We had the bottomless brunch at Forge and co. Trendy environment with good food. It’s a little pricier than other lunch places but with the prosecco it’s well worth it. Great for a boozy brunch and a good selection of gluten free options

Forge & Co is such a nice restaurant, forget the Shoreditch noisy and too young crowd, this is a fantastic grown-up but cool place. We went on a Saturday night, they had a DJ playing very nice music (maybe a bit too loud for the restaurant?), the G&T was fantastic and the food was incredible. In particular I recommend the baked Camembert, the swordfish and the braised Jacob's ladder.

Great menu and staff, let down by a meal delivered cold. Others with me really enjoyed their meal and had no complaints.

Good atmosphere and the brunch is well worth the money. Only criticism is that the steak was really quite poor quality. It was included in the £22 brunch so can't expect too much but if this had been my first visit it probably would have been my last. Luckily I have eaten there before and had a much better food experience the first time.
