All the staff was extremely kind, the waiter suggest us some amazing out-of-the-menu dishes. The place is nice and clean.

Blending together Japanese, Korean and Scandinavian flavours, Flat Three is a wonderfully eclectic venue. Hidden away in an intimate basement setting, there is clean, simple Scandinavian style, and a menu of craft cocktails to sample too.

Flat Three tasting menus showcases bold, inventive fusion flavours, and change almost daily to make use of the freshest seasonal ingredients. Fresh seafood delicacies include scallop with shishitou pepper and brown butter, as well as poached sea bass with fermented cauliflower. Wagyu short rib is served with corn miso, and fermented baby turnip is paired with green yuzu.

Diners at Flat Three in Kensington can enjoy expert drink pairings with each course, including imported sakes and fine wines, or go for cocktails and mocktails with house-made infusions and tonics. For dessert, enjoy more inventive creations, including orange black pepper cake, or almond yoghurt with thyme and lemon curd.

A wonderfully chic restaurant in London offering a unique dining experience in an intimate setting, Flat Three is just a minute's walk from Holland Park Tube Station.

Food was excellent, never had anything quite like this, it was overall a fantastic experience but clouded by the bill at the end.

Expensive for what it was esp as the prices shown were not inclusive of VAT which we did not know so bill at the end was much more than expected!

Great menu with lots of unusual dishes. Tables not too close together so one could talk rather than shout. Manager very helpful with dish selection. Portion sizes about right. Loved the use of wild flowers/ plants

A beautiful restaurant, especially if you like the fusion of minimal Danish mid-century architecture and Japanese decorative influences. The service was extremely professional and friendly. We felt well looked after and the food was as interesting and different from what we are used to as it was delicious! I recommend the fermented juices and the sake pairings with dessert :) They also catered well for us as vegetarians and had a complete understanding of me being gluten intolerant - even better that they confirmed that nearly everything on the menu was safe for me to eat.

    An excellent meal and experience.

Really enjoyed this dining experience. We found the food to be innovative and engaging, and enjoyed being carried through the experience of each course. The food is often subtle, and evokes, to my mind, quite English experiences, of foraging for food and being in the countryside. We finshed the five course menu feeling very satisfied.

We generally found the wine pairings to really enhance the food they were served with, and included a lot of unusual selections. We also enjoyed the Japanese contributions to the list.

The service was efficient, friendly and unfussy, and felt appropriate to the food and venue.

The venue itself is ideal - comfortable, appropriate, but does not upstage the food itself.

Flat three fell flat... i would not return. The plant based dishes lacked flavor and while the venison tartar was excellent , i would personally not order anything else off the menu again. Sommelier and wine / beer selection was excellent. One should never leave a restaurant and regret having spent money but that is what we walked away with. Celery dish was dull, the lentils were ok ( herbs were fantastic flavor profile! ) , the aubergine in miso forgettable and broth overly salty. Using soy as umami is the cheapest way to do it ( besides msg ) and left us feeling cheated. When tasting plant based dishes you want the flavors to bring you somewhere you haven't been - eating something simple. This was not achieved. The desert was ok but just that. Spend your money elsewhere.
Service was sub - par. Being the ONLY people in the restaurant at 6.30 pm first course was served while we were still in the middle of tasting the tartar ordered outside of the tasting menu. Terrible execution by wait staff and kitchen. This should never ever happen and especially not while serving one single table. Total expense was $300 , at this price point ( Like Vedge in Philly or Bouloud in NY ) you should walk away wanting to go back right away wondering what just happened in your mouth. Very disappointing.

Food is adventurous and unique. Wines are superb and the matches are well thought out. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for something new to try. Or anybody in the neighborhood who loves wine and something nice to eat. Worth going just for desserts.
