Comfortable surroundings, good quality food well presented, considerate service by staff who actually listen. Wine is not brilliant and ‘white wine of the day’ was served warm

The restaurant is very nice and in a lovely location. The food was very good, in particular the mussels, the taramasalata starters (this latter was on the a la carte menu) and the fish and chips. Spinach and dessert were fine. Our waiter, David, was outstanding in service, kindness and knowledge (he suggested us a delicious white wine) and we'll surely go back.
    Good value for money.

The food was in general excellent. The Brixton fish soup (a close relative of French fish soup) was very good and served wtith lashings of aoli. The mussels were were also first rate and well presented, whilst the battered cod demonstrated how that often abused food should be cooked. The main course fish soup was a little overwhelming and would have made a good meal for two people.

The staff were very helpful and when a new waitress was in doubt, she was immediately helped by another staff member.

We were happy to be back in London for a visit and wanted to host a London friend in our old neighbourhood. We used to be regulars at Fishworks and it did not disappoint on this occasion! We'll be back next time for sure.
