Excellent. We had whitebait and sardines for starters. Seabass and mussels for mains. All very tasty. Accompanies by good white wines. Recommendable!

Showcasing the freshest fare from all over the south coast, Fishers Restaurant Bristol showcases the finest in seafood dining. Exposed brick walls and nautical décor give the restaurant a welcoming, relaxed vibe, with British suppliers used as much as possible.

Fresh fish and shellfish are the focus of the Fishers Restaurant menu, with recipes covering everything from British classics to influences from Asia and the Mediterranean. Half a kilo of River Exe mussels, steamed in white wine, garlic and cream make for a perfect starter sharer, as well as deep-fried crab and coriander balls with aioli. There is traditional beer-battered haddock and chips, or the indulgent whole grilled lobster with garlic butter and mixed leaves. There are gourmet choices for those not wanting fish, including crispy confit duck leg with braised red cabbage, and vegetarian options like halloumi with Mediterranean chargrilled vegetables and pesto dressing.

Traditional puddings at Fishers Restaurant Bristol include sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and cream, and dark chocolate brownie. There is a full wine list, and British cider and ales.

A fantastic showcase for British seafood, Fishers Restaurant is 6 minutes' drive from Clifton Down Rail Station.

Very much a regular, I am a big fan of the un-fussy tasty and respectful way food is treated. I do have favourites on the menu and they rarely disappoint. Now gluten and dairy-free I am finding it a bit more difficult to eat from the 2 /3 course lunch deals and hope Fishers remain aware of the specific needs of diners and make small adaptations eg the coating on the calamari- could include a gluten free option.
The staff are friendly but never pushy and the overall atmosphere relaxed.
The is wine delicious- love the Gewurtztraminer which goes really well with the wonderful sweet chilli sauce.

My friend and I enjoyed a super meal of Sea Bass for her and Lemon Sole for me. Both dishes extremely well prepared and presented.
The Staff were very attentive and made the overall experience one we will repeat.

Fishers is on the surface a simple almost rustic restaurant but that hides a significantly more sophisticated dining experience if you love simple food done well. As with anything simple it's clear a lot of thought has gone into making the dishes as visually pleasing as they taste. We had the sea bass - which is served whole and dressed to perfection- nothing in the plate taking away from the delicate and perfectly cooked fish. The other dish we tried was the swordfish. A stronger heartier fish was raised up on a miniature mountain of roasted peppers, aubergines and courgettes. Griddled to perfection there was lots of sharing done by both of us.

The wine list was small but perfectly formed - just like everything at this great Bristol restaurant- just don't tell anyone - I don't want it to get too busy!

I love Fishers. The food is so good and the service is excellent. They also have a more interesting wine list than some restaurants.
