Staff were very friendly and helpful. I originally booked a table for 3pm and when I called in to see if I could have a table earlier they sorted this for me straight away. The food was lovely and I will definitely dine there again when I am next in London.

We loved the ambiance and decor, it made the experience special and intimate. The food was somewhat hit and miss, my crab and avocado tian starter was delicate and well crafted, but my partner's beef carpaccio tasted alternately of too much pepper and of nothing at all. The confit duck leg with cabbage was wonderfully tasty, but the fillet of beef was bland and looked odd- like the meat had been reformed, and with a £8 supplement was not at all worth the money. The desserts were a return to form. Perhaps the restaurant just don't do beef well, but otherwise I'd highly recommend. The Bookatable deal is great value, with lots of choice.

A lovely evening for my birthday meal. We had been a few years ago and were really pleased to find First Floor was still a great dining experience especially as my daughter was treating us! It was the Wednesday deal which was really good value for the quality of the food. The service was excellent and a special mention to Penny (and sorry I'm not sure of the name of the other waitress who was also lovely) who looked after us and was great to chat to. Thank you also to the chefs for delicious food. We had a really lovely evening.

I recently took my Mother for a night out on the Portobello Road stretch, suggesting we go for a spot of dinner at one of my favourite restaurants in the area. We made a booking for 6:30pm, which operated very smoothly!

Upon arrival we were pleasantly allocated to our table, greeted with friendly smiles and all around bubbly staff. I really couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting as we were right in the heart of Portobello Road, surrounded by ambient candlelight.

The very attentive staff made sure we were very comfortable after handing us our menus. Upon first glance, i was amazed as what was on offer and for such great value! To start i had the scallops which i must say were cooked to absolute perfection! They almost melted in my mouth. For my main course, i gladly devoured the duck which exceeded my expectations, i could not recommend it more! And to finish off, i had the sticky toffee pudding which blew my mind and my taste buds!

Content with a full stomach, we paid the bill and might i say - more than happy to with a bill like that! Absolutely the best deal for money on the whole of Portobello Road.

If you really enjoy your food, then i could not recommend this place enough for you. A must see, a must go.

Thank you to the very attentive staff, you really made the experience! I will no doubt be a returning customer.

Overall the place is quite nice but it has a kind of decadent feeling. I do not know whether it was meant to be like that, but there are many details that spoil the place. Wrong music for the venue, the service was good but not very professional (the waiter calling me MATE for example, and with a cheap pen sticked on his shirt), the food was of good quality but definitely but, again, some details were missing: how it was presented and served (the waiter again coming with 4 dishes on his hand, passing it to me rather then putting it on the table). There is good potential, but the manager needs to pay more attention on the details if he wants to make as a great experience rather than an OK place for dinner.

Chic decor, very tasty food, very friendly (but not so quick or attentive) service, extremely good value if ordering the set menu (3 courses for 20 quid), but even the a la carte menu is reasonably priced anyway. The food portion is good, definitely not on the small side. I went there with two friends, and we all enjoyed our food and eating there. Would definitely recommend it and would also plan to return. The location on Portobello Road couldn't have been better as well.
