Specialising in seasonal seafood, Falmouth Bay Seafood Café is a restaurant set within the Grade II-listed Castle Villa. Enjoying views out onto Truro River, the restaurant also showcases a curated wine list and serves non-fish & vegetarian options.
Start with a pre-dinner cocktail such as the ‘Shugborough Shake’ comprising fresh raspberries, strawberry liqueur, vodka, elderflower & fresh lemon, then indulge in a hearty meal of fresh seafood. Favourites on the Falmouth Bay menu include Cornish crab in a velvety sauce, finished with herb crumbs & parmesan, classic bouillabaisse with shellfish & local white fish, served with parmesan cheese, rouille & croutons, and surf & turf consisting of a prime cut medallion of Cornish fillet steak, king prawn & lobster tail, dripping in a garlic butter sauce, served with salad & chips.
To finish, indulge in a decadent dessert, like slow-roasted figs in honey, topped with Greek yoghurt & pistachios. With white-washed walls, clean, minimalist design & large windows letting the sun stream in, Falmouth Bay restaurant is a sophisticated, nautical-themed space.

We always love eating here, my partner and me. Sometimes we come along with friends or family, most often just the two of us. For us, it's not cheap, but it's somewhere we like to go as a treat when we can afford it. We've never been disappointed! From certain angles you can see the food being prepared, which is fun, and the decor is clean and not obtrusive. Valerie, Sarah and all the staff do a great deal to make you feel welcome, and help a birthday (for example) feel like an event. There seem to be a wide range of diners of all ages, and groups of all sizes. I've not had a duff dish there, but our favourite is the fruits de mer which is always gorgeously fresh, and looks so beautiful. (When our dish was brough out this time, other diners actually gasped! It looks like a Dutch still life or something.)

A lovely anniversary lunch. Wonderful attentive but not pushy service with really good, fresh seafood cooked to perfection. The creme brûlée had a crunchy top and was delicious.
