Specialising in seasonal seafood, Falmouth Bay Seafood Café is a restaurant set within the Grade II-listed Castle Villa. Enjoying views out onto Truro River, the restaurant also showcases a curated wine list and serves non-fish & vegetarian options.

Favourites on the Falmouth Bay menu include Cornish crab in a velvety sauce, finished with herb crumbs & parmesan, classic bouillabaisse with shellfish & local white fish, served with parmesan cheese, rouille & croutons, and surf & turf consisting of a prime cut medallion of Cornish fillet steak, king prawn & lobster tail, dripping in a garlic butter sauce, served with salad & chips.

To finish, indulge in a decadent dessert, like slow-roasted figs in honey, topped with Greek yoghurt & pistachios. With white-washed walls, clean, minimalist design & large windows letting the sun stream in, Falmouth Bay restaurant is a sophisticated, nautical-themed space.

Very nice restaurant. Friendly staff. We had viewed the Express Lunch menu on line but were not presented this on arrival. I had to be quite assertive in asking for this menu which after some confusion arrived with prices £1 more than on line. I let this go.

The food was delicious I has goats cheese starter, sea bass main which was bone free & beautifully cooked followed by the best chocolate brownie that I think I've ever had. Yum.

Also a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio.

As first-timers, we were hopeful but not overly optimistic. Well, every expectation was exceeded, and then some. The welcome was incredibly charming, the decor lovely, the service excellent, and the menu (including non-fish options) and food just wonderful. And cocktails as a bonus! Cannot recommend this restaurant enough - miss it at your peril.

My friend and I had a very enjoyable lunch - excellent moules and fish cakes. On the downside £2.50 for a small bottle of water is a bit steep and the 10% service charge annoying, we'd have been happy to leave a tip but don't like this growing trend for a service charge to be automatically added. Prospective diners should also note the restaurant is dog friendly which we weren't too happy about, fortunately the dogs who were there when we were were very well behaved.
