Lots of local artists and administrators cite this as their favorite Greek restaurant in Frankfurt, and we agree. It lies behind a grand and ornate 19th-century facade, but once you're inside, you'll find a large and relatively undecorated taverna with big windows overlooking the street. The cuisine derives from northern Greece (Macedonia), and several dishes merit special mention, especially the grilled lamb filet with a feta-cheese sauce and grilled sweet peppers. The cuisine is solidly reliable. Try the grilled octopus in an oregano-flavored butter sauce or a local favorite, filet of lamb in a cheese sauce with grilled sweet peppers and home-fried potatoes, and lots of fresh fish. For something imaginative, try the leg of rabbit braised in shallots, cinnamon, and red wine. In the mornings and throughout the afternoon, the place functions as a neighborhood bar and cafe.
