Disappointing menu - LRF showcases restaurants and their signature dishes but menu wasn't that special - cottage pie and fish and chips! Our table was close to service point, so lots of rushing around by waiting staff. Service quite slow.

As part of the excellent London Restaurant festival we booked a table at Espelette for 4 at 8.30pm. The [$] wine didn't come until we were eating and it was so unpleasant they changed it to another for [$]. The wine list is full of unknown wines unless you go for top dollar. The duck confit was too salty, the fish and chips was fritto misto with thick hard batter. Generally disappointing.

The portions were enormous (actually, a little too much food!) and even though I was there on a London Festival offer, the service was impeccably polite and attentive.

A proper 5 stars hotel, with a nice intimate ambiance. This restaurant offers a worm environment, with an international and well done food. The sommelier will advice you in the right way, and the waiters are friendly. Come around 8pm when it's quite busy and more enjoyable.
