Ember Yard specialises in Spanish and Italian-influenced small plates, cooked over charcoal and wood on a bespoke Basque grill. Located in north Soho a few steps from Oxford Street, Ember Yard is a popular draw for its 2 AA Rosette-awarded cuisine.

The ever-evolving tapas menu at Ember Yard offers a fittingly smoky range of dishes, from charred mackerel escabeche with brown crab emulsion, to chargrilled ibérico presa with whipped jamón butter, and from courgette flowers stuffed with goat’s cheese and honey, to grilled pumpkin with buffalo ricotta. There are always a couple of large plates for the whole table to feast on too, such as hot-smoked pork belly with smoked apple and cider glaze. On Sundays, a 4-course feast with free-flowing prosecco, white or red wine is served at Ember Yard in Soho.

The wine list boasts carefully chosen Spanish and Italian wines alongside sherries, gins and vermouths. There is a particular emphasis on inventive cocktails, with some of them even having that Ember Yard smoky touch.

Diners are served over 2 floors, and there is a private dining room which seats up to 24 people. Ember Yard in London is sister restaurant to the highly praised Salt Yard, Dehesa and Opera Tavern. Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road Tube stations are both a 5-minute walk away. Please note that only charcuterie, cheese and bar snacks are served from 15:00 - 17:00.

Loved it! We had the Sunday Feast-a set 4 courses of sharing plates and bottomless prosecco/wine.
The menu was perfect for summer with light dishes. However it would have been a bit of a problem if you didn’t like tomatoes as a lot of the dishes had them in.
Service was friendly, efficient but relaxed. And it was a nice respite from the stress of oxford street.

We have never been here before. My partner chose the restaurant and I booked it to celebrate his birthday. On my internet booking request, I asked if they could do something a little special as it was his birthday.

On arrival we were seated by our server Anna. She came back with menus, and asked for my partner by name. She then returned with two glasses of prosecco. She said she would sing Happy Birthday, but she did not have a good voice. We thought this was highly amusing. Throughout our meal she was very attentive, helpful, and had a great sense of humour.

We ordered our Tapas, and were not disappointed. We started with grilled flatbread and the homemade marjoram salami. The fresh herbs on the bread complimented the seasoning of the salami. I enjoyed the octopus, my partner was a bit unsure, so all the more for me yum! We thought the most outstanding Tapas was the chargrilled ibérico presa with whipped jamón butter.

Just before we were about to leave, a small bowl of ice cream with a candle was presented to my partner, with two spoons. Both the prosecco and the ice cream were complimentary from the restaurant.

We loved the cooking here and the excellent service. Other reviews state it may be expensive, but in Central London it is comparable to other restaurants of this type.

We are fans and will be back.

We loved the tapas style food and the Ember team were a pleasure apart from the manager? who seemed awkward about everything including where we sat in an almost totally empty lunchtime restaurant!

Lovely summer evening, and we sat by the big open windows - perfect! I was with my vegetarian niece, so we thoroughly sampled the quite large vegetarian menu. The best dishes were the burrata, the pedron peppers (really large and crunchy), goats cheese filled courgette flowers with honey ... and the buttery, herby flat-bread. The disappointing dish was a endive and pear salad ... which came very very burnt, with not much dressing, not much pear and some of the leaves were beginning to go off. I should have sent it back - but didn't! Finished with a fantastic chocolate and salted caramel ganache. Just delicious. Service was attentive and professional.
