Amongst the flavour-packed mains, try breast of mallard with pumpkin and chestnuts, salt-baked white beetroot and celeriac with truffled hazelnut pesto, or the aged fillet and short rib of beef with creamed potato, bone marrow, wild mushroom and red wine.

Desserts at Elystan Street restaurant are just as inventive, and include roasted figs with goat’s milk ice cream, lemon and thyme fritters and olive oil, and smashed brownie with chocolate foam, hazelnut ice cream and vanilla Chantilly. The Elystan Street wine list covers an array of international wines, with rare bottles joined by champagnes, ports and sherries.

A delicious lunch. I had a wonderful jellied beef consommé with beetroot and horseradish followed by glazed pork cheeks. My friends had the fish which they said was extremely good. The only disappointment was the sloe gin baba. The others had outstandingly delicious sorbet. Service was excellent and I will definitely try and visit the restaurant again.

Lovely a la carte lunch - exceptional food, relaxed atmosphere and professional service. Surprisingly the beetroot starter and cheese souffle proved to be the favourites. It's expensive, but the quality of the food just about justifies the cost, and I would love to return at some point to work through many more of the potential choices.

Excellent value set lunch menu (GBP 30 for 3 courses). The originality of the dishes was excellent and everything we ate was successfully executed and attractively presented. The dining room has a deceptively simply elegance, managing to be both contemporary and warm at the same time. The one area for improvement is service among the more junior staff. On multiple occasions, we were asked if "we were done", which turn of phrase I do not care for in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The situation was further compounded with the question being asked, a) with one hand firmly placed on the item the waiter was seeking to remove and b) while I or my dining companion were continuing to enjoy the said item.

Fabulous meal, atmosphere and service. Loved the innovative menu. The service was fantastic; very attentive, staff very knowledgable about wines and the food. I was drinking hot water which was replenished with care. Really loved the beetroot starter and prawn main course. Fantastic location too. Thank you Team! Great job.

Outstanding food and service. We have been to many excellent restaurants in London over the past 25 years, and this is in the top handful. We loved the flavour combinations in each dish. Especially loved the baked beetroot starter, roe deer main course, and creme caramel dessert. Also liked that there was a good amount of food in each dish (sometimes you leave a Michelin star restaurant feeling you have not eaten enough, but not here).
