Restaurant description
Packed with history and with one of the finest wine lists in all of London, El Vino Blackfriars is an intimate, traditional space with a great ambience. With 2 floors and outdoor seating, it is a perfect spot to socialise, or simply sample some rare vintages.
To pair up with the eclectic wines from around the globe, the El Vino menu offers up flavourful tapas delicacies from around Spain, Portugal and South America. Expertly cured meats and imported cheeses go into the popular sharing boards, while small plate recipes include spicy lamb and serrano meatballs, and padron peppers with olive oil and sea salt. Main courses feature grass-fed 28-day aged rib eye with chimichurri, and a British classic of deep fried fish in herb beer batter with fries.
The wine menu at El Vino is renowned all across London. Rare vintages from the old and new worlds are available, as well as keenly priced selections that have been carefully sourced for their quality.
Mixing traditional style with modern comfort, El Vino in Blackfriars is a London institution, and sits only 2 minutes' walk from Blackfriars Tube Station.

Fast friendly service the food is delicious.. I know it is "el vino" but still would expect variety in the pint beers for the sake of summer too..

The service, atmosphere and location were perfect. Like stepping back into 1960's London, but in a good way. My guests had Tapas which looked amazing and they were content, but I ate the 28 day aged steak. It was truly magnificent. Incredibly good steak with a beautiful taste, cooked very well, rare, and a perfectly matched Chimcerri sauce. Stunning, simple and memorable.
