El Olivar is located in the heart of the village of Moratalla in north-eastern Murcia, just 12 km from the holy city of Caravaca de la Cruz and 14km from Calasparra – famous for its rice. The restaurant is decorated in natural tones with granite floors, ochre walls and wooden ceilings. The walls are hung with paintings and its homely atmosphere makes the perfect setting for the dishes prepared by chef-owner Firo and his team. True to its name, virtually every dish uses the extra virgin olive oil made from local Cuquillo olives. El Olivar was the first restaurant in the Murcia region to be awarded the Q for Tourism Quality award (2002) and one of the first 25 in the country. It is also the only restaurant in Spain to hold the European Quality Excellence certificate - a further indication of its emphasis on quality. Classic dishes prepared with modern techniques and the highest quality ingredients mean that diners can be sure of an outstanding gastronomic treat. Service is meticulous but discreet.
