I took my friend here for a birthday treat lunch. My friend was suitably impressed as I wanted her to feel special which the staff did a very good job of. They were attentive but not in the way, and very warm and friendly. The food was delicious and well presented. My only negative comment would be that the bread was a little dry, but apart from this it was a very pleasureable dining experience!

I booked the table for 7pm. However, when we arrived at the restaurant I was not booked in. When I questioned this, I was told that the bookings had probably not been checked that day! Thankfully they had a table available - the meal was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentative.

Evening / food / service / house wine is always a hit / starters are fab too and the 40% is always a bonus to use.

We arrived without a booking on valentines weekend, We were treated very will by staff who went out of there way to get us a table. We had the 3 course pre six meal, which was amazing, i have never tasted food with so much flavour, the staff appologised because they seated us by the kitchen, but when i book again I would requst the same table, it was great to see into the kitchen and see the chef and cooks at work. it added to the atmosphere. We had a fantastic evening. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We are hoping to go back with my parents for their anniversay in may.

Felt slightly misled by the 'specials' offered as we were seated. Ordered one such special only to find it was a price that I wouldn't have paid had it been on the main menu.

Food very nicely cooked and presented but slightly over priced and a limited menu but service excellent and polite

Food was excellent, although the portions are very small, my garlic prawns (as a starter) consisted of 5 medium prawns and two extremely thin sliced tomato rubbed bread. This is the second time I have dined at Ego in January and was very impressed on both occasions,(other than the portion sizes). It has improved dramatically from previous times I had dined there.
