Restaurant furnishing is certainly dated the chairs rocked in the main dining restaurant and the seat in booth we sat in at breakfast had gaffa tape stuck over a rip in it . The main meal was lovely on the Saturday evening , we decided we would only have the main meal and the dessert so we weren’t to full ... unfortunately due to a problem with orders coming from the restaurant till to the kitchen we never received the chocolate torte I was looking forward to and my husband didn’t get to taste the ice cream . The fact we waited nearly half an hour before someone came to us unaware we hadn’t received said dessert asking if all was ok with our meal . The waiter deducted the dessert cost off of our menu so therefore our dinner date wasn’t quite the experience we were expecting from a four star hotel.

We were very disappointed with the food choices available in the main Brasserie restaurant. After staying in many of Q hotels this particular hotel was disappointing in the very few menu options. We ended up having the carvery which for two of us including one glass of wine each came in just under £60. The staff were very polite and friendly and the restaurant it’s self was very clean and welcoming. I personally wouldn’t return or recommend unless the menu was revamped and had more than three main choices. We left very disappointed as we normally have great experiences from other hotels in this chain.

We had a long wait for starters - almost half an hour. When it did arrive, my daughter's garlic bread was quite burnt and had to be sent back. I can not understand how the chef was happy to send it out like that - or the waiter that brought it to us. The carvery was very average, not as nice as it was before, when we stayed at the hotel. There was no apple sauce for the pork, or cranberry sauce for the turkey. Vegetable selection was not great - not as good as our local pub! My husband ordered the steak and my son the lamb, both from the al-la-carte menu. These dishes were nice. My daughter's main was supposed to be served with a side salad which never arrived. The waitress was friendly, but she looked quite busy. We left feeling quite disappointed.

Excellent decor, very helpful and friendly staff who were very attentive but not 'in your face'. Both my partner and I were quite surprised and the quite small choice on the menu but having said that all corners were covered ie a meat dish, a fish dish, a game dish and a vegetarian dish so all in all all based were covered. The food was of excellent quality, couldnt fault any aspect of it, very delicious and plenty of it. The one criticism was the disabled toilet, it's quite awkward to manoeuvre in there with an electric wheelchair, also the chain to flush the loo was a bit short if you're in a wheelchair, my partner struggled to reach it from her chair. The toilets however were very clean and fresh both the disabled and able bodied toilets. All in all 10/10 A*

Delightful experience in a comfortable setting. our staff member was very comfortable. An everlasting supply of an excellent tea. The array of cakes was a joy - not too sweet, which suits out palette. A happy birthday experience.
