It was a little disappointing, the food was ‘nice’ but again, it was a little overpriced and it was not the most amazing dining experience, particularly when paying over £15 for an average carvery!
The breakfast buffet was ‘nice’ but not overly luxurious & though it was replenished several times and the quality was ok, it was just simply-okay.

Booked expecting a carvery but not available on the day. Limited menu available, food ok, not blown away. Not overly busy but had to wait a while for our mains, looking around so did most customers as all the staff were apologising. Lacked leadership in the front of house department.
I work in hospitality as a hotel manager so I know what I'm looking for and what to expect. It just seems it needs some TLC and some strong leadership. Waiting staff on the day very polite and helpful

Paid £45 for afternoon tea for 2. Seated a few feet from bar which was entertaining a group of loud, drunk, swearing wedding guests and it was impossible to talk to my partner. We asked to move, as did another group having afternoon tea, to be told there was nowhere else to go. The tea was 35 minutes late coming out and was very disappointing. We wouldn’t have minded the minimal amount of food if we were paying for the atmosphere and surroundings, but we certainly didn’t get that. An absolute waste of money and I would never recommend to anybody. I’ve had more pleasant experiences in transport cafes!

    Beef was over cooked!
One slice of meat on carvery slightly disappointing (for the people who got turkey) as beef wasn't eaten anyway.

Had afternoon tea for granddaughters 21st. On arrival the lady behind the bar was helpful, chatty and informative. We were seated at our table and left alone whilst presents and cards were opened. The tea itself was really enjoyable and service also good. It got quite busy and there did not seem to be many staff. We had a lovely afternoon however, when we left the table and went to the bar to pay we stood for 15 minutes being totally ignored by the busy busy bar staff who seem to have the don’t do eye contact with them then we won’t need to serve them approach. I finally found a member of staff who explained that this was going on and that was going on, well get more staff then. It was the lady serving the teas in the restaurant who had to take our payment and to be fair to her she looked like she had to be in several places at the same time. It was such a nice tea and such a shame the end experience was so negative hence only 3 stars instead of 5.

We hated the carvery and self service which we did not expect from a Q Hotel. However there was a small selection of main courses that were served from the kitchen and these were excellent. We must congratulate the staff who were very understanding and very helpful and rescued us from a miserable experience.
