Nice afternoon tea albeit quite costly had it not had the discount. Seating tired looking and very uncomfortable.

When we got to the restaurant we were informed that it was closing in 30 mins and not doing food. They told us we could eat in the hotel bar instead.

Afternoon tea wasn’t worth the price. I took my wire and two children and we were not happy with oulton hall. First of all we were given 3 cakes for 2 people. I believe we should of been given a selection of cakes. We asked for more sandwiches and asked for no egg sandwiches! We were given egg. The waitress didn’t listen and looked flustered every time we asked her a question. We asked for ham and cheese sandwiches for our two Children and were given ham and tuna. Had to ask twice to change the sandwiches. Not happy as this was a present for my wife’s birthday.

Service very slow and although booking was for 3 table set for 2 and therefore more delay. First night food was good, second night Dire. I asked what was the problem when I paid, nothing said and didn’t offer a reduction, very disappointing to say the least. The packed picnic lunch was lovely albeit delayed as we were missed off the list. The afternoon tea was excellent and the service was very good, the waiter was helpful and a delight with my granddaughter, top marks to him. The salads in the bar area were delicious. I would like to say, the hotel with an upgrade and improved service it would be a truly relaxing and pleasant stay. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bedroom wasn’t cleaned properly, peanuts on the floor and dust. Not acceptable in these times.

I booked afternoon tea for myself and my sister via the online booking system. When we arrived the hotel had no record of our booking, however we had an email confirmation of the booking and they did seat us. The drawing room was extremely busy with only 2 staff members working very hard. Our table was booked for 2pm. Our order was taken at 3.30pm and afternoon tea finally served at 4pm, so rather a long wait. When it arrived the bread was dry and the scones not fresh. Overall not a pleasant dining experience and we will not be returning. The staff were trying their best and very helpful but extremely busy. Additional staff would have helped.

Booked a table at the Claret Jug. However, Oulton Hall had not switched off online booking for this restaurant. We turned up and it was closed. Oulton Hall were very good at fitting us into the Calverley Grill and our meals were lovely. So from a disaster to an excellent evening.
