A delightful experience throughout, from the pre-visit courtesy call to the complimentary sweets which accompanied coffee. The service was exemplary: friendly. knowledgeable, unhurried, and attentive without being intrusive. We three friends meeting up for a pre-Christmas lunch had the set lunch of four courses. This is the sort of dining where there is not a lot on the plate but each dish contains unusual, interesting and exciting combinations of perfectly prepared ingredients and you can be confident that whatever is on the menu will be delicious. Our choices included smoked haddock with pickled turnip which sounds a bit odd but was exquisite; a dessert of gingercake lifted from the ordinary with a range of embellishments including caramelised pumpkin seeds; half a dozen British cheeses with membrillo, dabs of pear and saffron chutney and truffle honey. The venison was cooked to perfection - soft, pink and full of flavour. The duck confit in the celeriac fondant was a delicious surprise. There is a vast winelist from which we chose an Argentinian malbec which was excellent and reasonably priced. We departed after a couple of hours of full on enjoyment - and The Clockhouse is firrmly on our returns list.

A fantastic Tasting Menu, matched by excellent and friendly service. I'd say the bar prices were a little high, but did not detract from the overall experience. Will look for another excuse to visit.

We loved it all - particular favourites were the scallop, the turbot and the wine flight. The flavours really did complement every dish. Thank you also for the birthday surprise sweets at the end. Wonderful service too. Overall this will be a meal that we will always remember. Thank you.

Th ClockTower Restaurant is a very fine experience. The dining room I find discretely opulent yet relaxed with a subtle but friendly colour scheme. The food is very fine yet I would suggest the portions are small - The waiters very courteous, helpful and I felt welcome

Very professional service - struck just the right chord. Food was overall delicious although very limited choices (two per course) for Saturday lunch. Fortunately, there was something we wanted for each course. The only thing we didn’t like was the complimentary appetiser of pig’s ear. Tried it, but the texture and taste were not good - let’s be honest, eating pig’s ear is just wrong! Wine was first class and served well. A relaxing and pleasant experience.

Attractive restaurant; very good food; good service; but an unacceptably overpriced winelist. Wine by the glass (which was a curiously small pour) was the same price as retail for the bottle.

My wife and I came for a special birthday lunch.----we ended up having the 7 course menu + wine tasting We were not disappointed----indeed we thought it was the best meal we have EVER had!!---and we've been to the Clock house (and Drakes) about 8 times. All the staff were knowledgable, delightful, and pleasantly professional

The Clock House has stripped out pre-starter, pre-dessert, coffee and petit fours from its set lunch menu (unlike Sorrel at the same price). Food was inventive, flavoursome and well-presented. Seasoning was a little erratic on my grey mullet main course. Staff were helpful, friendly and professional
