A landmark destination in the pretty seaside village of Thorpeness, Dolphin Inn offers modern British classics. Offsetting the country farmhouse-style dining room, a covered al fresco terrace looks out over the sprawling gardens.

Championing locally sourced and home grown produce, the Dolphin Inn menu . Clean, unfussy creations include seared sea bass with roasted fennel, cherry tomatoes and lemon, or sautéed chicken livers with brandy cream and thick crusty-bread toast. Tempting classics for dessert at Dolphin Inn Thorpeness include Granny’s Bramley apple and rhubarb crumble, or decadent pecan pie.

As well as silky cask ales, single malts and Bourbons, an amply-stocked bar showcases wines from top-quality international growers. Wholesome vegetarian recipes and a nutritious children’s menu are also offered at the Dolphin restaurant.

A bright, fresh setting filled with natural light, the Dolphin Inn dining room is littered with chunky wood furnishings and pretty prints. Central Aldeburgh is an 8-minute drive away.

We had dinner at the Dolphin as a family and really enjoyed it. The only negative was that one of our main courses was delayed which resulted in the rest of us half way through ours before it arrived. The waitress was very apologetic and give us a beer we had ordered free. We would certainly go back.

We dined at 7.30, having arrived at 7.00 pm, we decided to have a drink outside in the garden, we were shown to our table and then order'd, the food was very tasty and very well presented, all the staff were very polite and helpful, we would definitely go back.
