Restaurant description

Situated by the river, on London’s South Bank, Doggett’s Coat & Badge is a traditional pub boasting a large al fresco terrace with gorgeous riverside views for sun-soaked summer dining. The pub is named after Thomas Doggett, an actor-turned-politician.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Doggett's Coat & Badge menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The Doggett's Coat & Badge bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

Doggett’s Coat & Badge in Blackfriars is a 5-minute walk from Blackfriars Tube Station.

Friendly staff. Despite being under pressure they dealt with us as soon as they could and were effective. The beer and food were nice. A problem with their EPOS system caused them problems when I came to be but was soon sorted with many apologies

We have been there about 6 Times now and have not had a bad or tasteless meal yet. The menu is restricted , but that maybe a bonus , as they concentrate on the best they can do with it. The staff are extremely friendly and the service excellent. The view over the river Thames is exceptional, and adds to the experience.
