Lavished with praise by Jay Rayner in The Observer and Lucas Hollweg in The Sunday Times, Diciannove restaurant offers premier Italian cuisine in effortlessly elegant, contemporary surroundings. Intimate booths and a private gallery dining room are perfect for special occasions, whilst live jazz is performed every Thursday.

Head chef Alessandro Bay crafts traditional Italian dishes using the very freshest ingredients. Fresh handmade pastas include lobster spaghetti, seasoned with thyme and fresh tomato, and tagliatelle with beef and pork ragout. Classic antipasti dishes include scallops with pea puree and crispy prosciutto, and endive salad with gorgonzola and pear.

Desserts at Diciannove London are timeless classics, ranging from tiramisu to affogato. As well as a selection of fine wines and grappas, a range of cognacs and armagnacs provide a smooth digestif.

In the heart of the City, Voltaire in Blackfriars is a 6-minute walk from St Paul’s Cathedral. Blackfriars Tube and Rail stations are across the road.

I didn't realise that this restaurant was in a hotel and probably would not have chosen it if I had. Perhaps as a result, the restaurant lacked atmosphere and while the service was polite and attentive the welcome could have been warmer. The food itself was delicious although the portion size was rather small.

We loved it....wasn't over crowded, staff competent and very informative on the food they were serving. Wine excellent. Would definitely eat there again.

The booking service was very easy, I booked online and then received a confirmation email.
The restaurant was inside an hotel, the interior decor was very modern and attractive with lots of colour and very clean.
The service was very good and the food was lovely. My only criticism would be the lack of choice on the menu and the specials card all included asparagus (which they were promoting) butsadly both my husband and I do not like asparagus so this limited our choice. When our food was delivered, we were not asked if we would like any sauces with it. I would have liked some mayonnaise but I had half finished my meal before I could ask someone so I did not bother. This was a shame. I also like butter with my bread and this was not provided.

A very good dining experience. the restaurant was quiet with a good ambience. The food was excellent value for the money we paid and there was sufficient variety in the set menu for our different tastes (there were 6 of us). The staff were very attentive and friendly and we were not rushed to finish our meal as happens in a number of restaurants so we were able to relax and enjoy the evening.

Food was okay - nothing special. Good value for money - set menu meal plan.

Fantastic Italian restaurant just near Blackfriars station. Impeccable service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Food was amazing - authentic, perfectly prepared and beautiful fresh produce. Only downside was no hot chocolate on the coffee menu and I desperately wanted one with my delicious dessert!

Pleasant ambiance. Had to request the glass of champagne that was included in the deal. My scallops for starter were very good; my wife's beetroot & ricotta salad was OK. Her main of pork was very good; my veal was disappointing - very bland; came with potatoes & no vegetables. Zabaione pudding was a bit disappointing.
