The 4 glasses of wines were good and because we knew we had to wait for the souffle broccoli the first two were an excellent start for us. We moved the table once we were seated as although the temperature was OK I was sitting in an icy blast to my neck from the air conditioner. Because the staff were so busy it was very difficult finding someone to deal with any concern about this. The souffles were stupendous, very hot and fluffy with excellent three cheese sauce to pour over. For the main course, my wife had Norfolk belly of pork which she liked very much. I had the Californian fish. The potatoes and beans were hot but the fish was tepid and disappointing as a main feature of the menu. Its texture and taste was potentially appealing. This was surprising as we have been regulars (three or four times a year for many years), and the meals have usually been up to a high standard. This was our second meal since the relaxation of lockdown and the protective safeguards put in place are top quality. Visors, face masks, distancing of staff and tables, cutlery served without contact, temperature taken on arrival. For dessert we both had ordered blackberry and apple clafoutis. As a diabetic I had ordered the clafoutis without icing sugar or ice cream as I get fed up with having cheese as my only dessert when eating out. I have spent many years trying to educate chefs that they have control over the amount of sugar they put in food, and diabetic alternatives with unhealthy sweeteners are not welcome; I have not tasted ice cream for over 20 years so do not want a diabetic version. My minimum sugar clafoutis order had gone through, and was eventually found and served to me and thoroughly enjoyed and snaffled. Coffees and chocolates were served to complement the meal, and my wife always enjoys eating my chocolates with hers. The staff are always very polite and happy to talk when serving.

A very enjoyable evening with good food and excellent service. Only comment was a medium rare steak and a medium steak was given to the wrong persons but this was easily sorted by swapping plates when noticed at start of meal. Only other comment was I forgot to submit my season ticket when calling for the bill so ended up not claiming my 10% discount.

We have been before, and we were very impressed with how the staff dealt with the current situation felt very safe and the four of us thought the food quality and quantity had improved from our previous visits, you could fault it, was cooked to perfection Thankyou

Wow wow wow what a fantastic experience and I can safely say the best meal out I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived to moment of leaving the restaurant I can honestly say I couldnt fault it. The staff were an absolute credit to your company and deserve to be recognised for this. The chef must be one of the best as every item of food was cooked to perfection.

Clearly a huge effort to eradicate the Covid risk and we felt safe dining there. I told them it was our wedding anniversary and special occasion yet we didn't even get a happy anniversary from anyone! It was a bit disappointing they didn't help us celebrate. Food was pretty good. They forgot we asked in advance for Peppercorn sauce at first and brought out bearnaise sauce with the steak.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. It was good to see the staff again as they always make you feel welcome. We enjoyed our courgette souffle, but the star of the meal was the chilled salmon. The meal was enhanced by a bottle or two of Picpoul de Pinet....Our waitress was attentive and helpful especially as to how to add the sauce to the souffle.
