Restaurant description

Serving hearty British food to the City, Davy’s at Woolgate Bar and Brasserie offers al fresco terrace dining in front of an imposing columned façade. Equally impressive inside, Davy’s offers wines including its own label range, plus champagne, real ales and hot drinks.

From an early breakfast to an after-work dinner, the Davy’s at Woolgate menu covers it. Starters include duck liver pâté with toasted sourdough bread and pickled cucumber, while main courses of king prawn and crab linguine, and slow-cooked chicken leg in red wine, display the Davy’s restaurant chefs’ versatility.

Desserts include sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and flourless chocolate cake with crème fraîche, while plenty of tangy British cheeses will go well with your ale.

Staff are happy to advise on the extensive Davy’s wine list, offering a mix of new world and European stock. Opposite the Guildhall, Davy’s at Woolgate Bar and Brasserie in London is a 6-minute walk from Moorgate Train Station.

Good food and service - seafood linguine particularly good. Great wine list at very easonable prices.

Prefer the smaller less heavy dishes at lunchtime, so often go for a salad or veggie dish, even though a carnivore

I booked for a casual business meeting over tapas and coffee. It was an oddly summery day in London so did forego the lovely table inside, set to perfection, for an outside patio table. Service inside is better than outside, as you sort of have to hunt someone down, but this is to be expected, to a degree outdoors. The food was lovely, and the staff, when they did come out to check on us or serve if I had to go in to request help, were very pleasant. Clean, nice, good food, good service, overall. Would recommend and will revisit very soon. Also, for those road warriors who need a quiet place for a coffee and call, this is an excellent choice. Far better than trying to find a quiet Starbucks! Plus, their light menu is far tastier!!

The coffee and food was OK, but very limited menu, and very disinterested staff. At 8.30am the place was empty and also cold (got warmer by about 9.30). There are far better, welcoming and warming places from breakfast than this in the area, so doubt I'll come here again.

Lunchtime informal meeting. The menu had a good choice and the food was well presented. The wine was good but over-priced. Overall a good meal in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. I would book again anytime.
