    Menu not extensive but OK for a lunchtime. Good atmosphere, not too crowded or noisy even when busy. Nice puddings.

    nice welcome by name. Good table, the one I prefer! Which I like to think was remembered from previous visit. Had risotto which I have had before and this wasn't quite up to the standard of my previous one as was more watery.

    I booked to have a birthday lunch here, and mentioned this in the booking. I should have mentioned I don't drink alcohol as I received two glasses of champagne once I had been seated. The waiters were polite and took our drinks and food order with no issues. However once the food was delivered the service there after was slim to none. The steak burger is highly recommended with skinny or chunky chips! We had to wait to gain the attention of someone for extra condiments and another drink almost as if they had forgotten they seated us in that area. The food was very enjoyable and the presentation very nice. We ordered desserts perhaps you could advertise just ice cream by itself as when I asked for this the waiter had to go back and forth to query if it was possible and the cost. Dessert was very nice fruit crumble and custard. Again we had a long wait in getting the attention of a waiter for the bill. When we received the bill it was another long wait for the payment to be taken. So much so we took the bill to the front to pay. We paid by cash and was then told there was no change in the till and had to wait again for change to be given. This all happened at the front of the restaurant. This was in my lunch break and highly unacceptable when I have only a 1hr break. If the service was improved I may choose to return here or only attend when I have more time to spare.
