We wanted to find a good restaurant when we arrived at Stratford before the Saturday game at West Ham, and were not disappointed the atmosphere was great, the food and drinks were fantastic, would recommend this restaurant to anybody in the city.

Set in the former Athletes' Village in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, Darkhorse Restaurant is a wonderfully chic setting of distressed concrete walls and polished wood finishings, serving modern European dishes, cocktails and fine wines.
A superb selection of classic and contemporary European flavours with British twists is served on the Darkhorse Restaurant menu. A popular tapas-style range includes options like goats' cheese crostini, and squid ink arancini, while the charcuterie selection is perfect to pair with something from the extensive wine list. There are gourmet mains like pot roast rabbit and while roast plaice, with vegetarian specialities of fresh truffle and potato ravioli.
Along with the celebrated wine list at Darkhorse Restaurant in Stratford, there is a sherry menu and signature cocktails. For pudding, enjoy crème Catalana, or the hot chocolate brioche pudding.
An intimate slice of modern European dining, Darkhorse is a wonderfully chic restaurant in London. Stratford International Rail Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Great place to have a nice meal with friends the food was good and the staff friendly. Matt the bar man made great cocktails (even if not on the menu) and was happy to help even though he was constantly busy.

We go there either pre watching West Ham or after the game. We have been several times and have always had great food and wine. Staff are excellent. Will definitely be going again.

Great modern European menu - we were four so had a good selection of the menu. Wine was good. Service friendly. Bit noisy and slightly off the beaten track but still popular and worth travelling for

Firsty let me say the food was delicious!
We are complete ‘foodies’ so I was delighted with my choice as it was a special occassion.
Sadly tho...we left feeling that the service had been poor. We were greeted and seated by a lovely guy...but after that felt like we were shuffled between different staff, the man who took our food order didnt smile at all or interact - it felt like really hard work and that we were just an inconvenience. We then had to ask for a wine list, and just felt that no-one was really ‘looking after us’ or our table and it just put a bit of a dampner on the whole experience.
I dont normally do the feedback thing, but thought you might find this useful in some way. The ‘experience’ of a lovely meal out is measured I feel, in the service and the food in equal measure.
I dont think I would recommend friends to try based on this, but perhaps it was a ‘’one off’.
Hope you find this helpful and not critical, as that is my intention. -

As ever a lovely meal in nice surroundings. The food here is just excellent. The classic expression of do one thing well. The menu changes but often subtly. I had the Frigitello peppers followed by the Onglet, both perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Service was just right, there when you needed it. The atmosphere welcoming.
I make a point of seeking out good restaurants in London when I work there, which is quite often. This is one of my favourites and surprisingly easy to get to and accessible on HS1, from the centre, which runs regularly and until late.
