I lived in India for five years so I have high standards for Indian food and Darbaar meets those with distinction. The butter chicken was delicious and the naan was freshly baked and moist.

Set in London's trendy Shoreditch, Darbaar Restaurant is a stunning contemporary space serving a menu inspired by the banquets of the Indian Royal Court. In addition to the chic bar, there is a unique interactive grill seating area, and a bespoke chef's table.

All kinds of colourful, eclectic dishes are prepared with flair on the Darbaar Restaurant menu, starting off with fresh seafood flavours like king scallops with wild mushroom achar and cauliflower purée. There are dishes that featured in Masterchef 2016, such as Mewari oven-baked leg of rabbit with chilli and corn sauce, while the selection of curries boast delicate blends of spices and rich creams.

Exciting Indian afternoon teas are hugely popular at Darbaar Restaurant in Shoreditch, and combine exotic teas with savoury treats and sweets like Valrhona dark chocolate and chilli cake, and date samosas. From the bar, there is a huge wine selection, and unique signature cocktails.

An intimate, contemporary slice of modern Indian dining, Darbaar Restaurant is only a 3-minute walk from Liverpool Street Rail Station.

Me and my sisters booked the afternoon tea for my mother's birthday and service was amazing, as was the food! Nice and friendly staff and my mother really enjoyed it.

Drinks were too sweet in taste and after complaining they were modified. Thanks for that

The atmosphere was rather dull and bleak, despite the online reviews. Was expecting a more indian themed restaurant, in the lunch room. Chairs were uncomfortable and need replacing. The entrance was modern and cloackroom service was fine. Waiter was good, although chef forgot to cook one starter. Slightly over priced for portion sizes, though I guess that's a common theme in London.

The chapli kebab on set lunch menu was awful, nicely spiced but presentation was poor and dull. Other chicken starter was fine, though we thought it was a main. Main dishes were good, mackeral and chicken pilao. Nan was small, not enough for 2. It was a birthday lunch and the cake and candle was greatly appreciated.

A mixed experience, though my lunch partner enjoyed it more than myself. Toilets were clean, modern and good.

First time here and there was no doubt that the depth of flavours coming from our food was amazing. Added to that the staff in the restaurant were friendly, informative and made the evening so enjoyable
    Thanks
