I lived in India for five years so I have high standards for Indian food and Darbaar meets those with distinction. The butter chicken was delicious and the naan was freshly baked and moist.

Set in London's trendy Shoreditch, Darbaar Restaurant is a stunning contemporary space serving a menu inspired by the banquets of the Indian Royal Court. In addition to the chic bar, there is a unique interactive grill seating area, and a bespoke chef's table.
All kinds of colourful, eclectic dishes are prepared with flair on the Darbaar Restaurant menu, starting off with fresh seafood flavours like king scallops with wild mushroom achar and cauliflower purée. There are dishes that featured in Masterchef 2016, such as Mewari oven-baked leg of rabbit with chilli and corn sauce, while the selection of curries boast delicate blends of spices and rich creams.
Exciting Indian afternoon teas are hugely popular at Darbaar Restaurant in Shoreditch, and combine exotic teas with savoury treats and sweets like Valrhona dark chocolate and chilli cake, and date samosas. From the bar, there is a huge wine selection, and unique signature cocktails.
An intimate, contemporary slice of modern Indian dining, Darbaar Restaurant is only a 3-minute walk from Liverpool Street Rail Station.

We had the afternoon tea ??. It was truly delicious, especially the chicken Kathi rolls, lemon ?? & ginger crime brûlée and warm gulab jamuns. Completely filling too,we didn’t need dinner that evening. The restaurant is beautiful but was quite empty I’d encourage everyone to try it.

My favourite dish was the goat biriyani it melted in the mouth... and the restaurant was clean and had a nice bar area to chill after being full up.... from the welcome to the good bye I enjoyed it all.. definitely recommend it for a nice curry and relaxed atmosphere and great service.. and the restaurant manager was on point and interested.

One of the best Indian meals in London.

Loved the Royal Pot, the lamb was cooked to perfection. Loved all the starters (corn fritters, coconut shrimp, samosa chaat) and the parathas and naan were good too. The cinnamon mockta il was so original and delicious. We were sitting in the bar area vicinity so the decor here left me underwhelmed compared to the 'royal banquet' description on the website. Not sure if other areas are nicer? Bringing over drinks menus and taking our orders took far too long. Service in general was quite slow even though they weren't that busy but they were very sensitive to my childrens' nut allergies.

Service was very slow for a lunchtime sitting as well as not very attentive, we had to keep asking people to attend to us as opposed to coming and asking how we are getting on.
