A very enjoyable meal served by friendly and enthusiastic staff. Excellent pint of Adnams Ghost ship. Good to see that the bar was full too.

Set in the picturesque Warwickshire village of Harbury, The Crown Inn is a pretty 18th century inn combining a traditional local pub atmosphere with a charmingly rustic dining setting as well as a beer garden and a children's play area. Offering fresh food and great ales, its seasonal menus are replete with traditional and modern dishes, as well as a stunning Sunday carvery. With over twenty years experience in good foodie pubs in the home counties and Warwickshire, John and his family have created a homely and welcoming pub which is children, dog, and muddy boots friendly, and very popular with those enjoying the great local walks too.

As we have come to expect, the food was carefully and expertly prepared for us. Very tasty Lincolnshire sausages with ham and onion crushed potatoes in a rich sauce. My wife enjoyed fish goujons in a fresh baquette with fabulously cooked chips - crisp outside and fluffy & creamy inside.
It was a splendid meal with fine table service too.

2nd visit on Sunday for a carvery in the last month, thoroughly enjoyed it once again. Lovely venue, friendly staff and great food.

Rather disappointing. Lovely service, but the aloo gobi was bland, and the peanut butter brownie was dry and burnt. Such a shame as a previous meal we’d eaten here was good. Service very friendly though

Saturday lunch was calm and just nicely bus. Service was friendly but professional.
The menu had a good range. My proper steak and ale pie had short crust pastry bottom sides and top.
Plenty of succulent well cooked beef and rich gravy inside.
Accompanying mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy with a definite taste of horseradish.
The broccoli spears were fresh and cooked to the right point.
My lunch guest enjoyed aloo ghobi with chicken wild and white rice and cauliflower .
The naan we felt was too dry for us.
Overall though another meal in a convivial environment with plenty of excellent food at a good price.

Just the right level of attentiveness from the staff and the food was, as usual, very good indeed.
The beef and ale pies (with horseradish mash) in particular were praised by the two of us who ordered them - the intensity of the horse-radish was judged to be just right.
Their special offer of a 'free' bottle of wine (their usual choices) for any two people ordering a two course meal, meant that the four of us enjoyed two bottles of pretty good red wine with our meals.
A medium rare rump steak with red cabbage, and chips with a Bearnaise sauce was cooked to perfection and visibly enjoyed.
The Gammon that I had was of generous size and thickness - and the flavour was really excellent. I had been told to try to Gammon by an acquaintance - the recommendation was spot on! It came with two just runny enough eggs and plenty of well cooked crisp and thick chips.
The two who had a starter for their other course chose the crayfish which was refreshing and flavourful.
The other two (the women) chose to have a sweet course with the ice-cream and a blueberry and ice-cream with further cream desert both enjoyed, too.
We were very satisfied with what we had eaten and the restaurant itself.
    Well done!
