I would recommend the afternoon tea especially for a special occasion. The whole experience was superb. So much food we had to bring some home. Well done to Roy and Gaynor especially as they have only been at Cross Lanes for 3 weeks

Dating back almost 500 years, Cross Lane House is a beautiful guesthouse and restaurant in the bucolic village of Allerford. It is an absorbing setting for traditional afternoon tea, a classic selection with all the trimmings.

Afternoon tea at Cross Lane House is a towering display of dainty finger sandwiches, freshly-baked scones with West Country clotted cream, and exquisite pastry creations. A wide choice of teas completes the selection, while a chilled glass of champagne can be added as a decadent touch.

A richly historic setting, Cross Lane House in Somerset exhibits a light touch in its contemporary interior design. Modern colours perfectly interact with stoic wooden features and antique bookcases, making for a tranquil environment in which to take afternoon tea.

Offering a range of boutique rooms, Cross Lane House boasts a picture-worthy garden. In a peaceful country spot within Exmoor National Park, it is 4 miles from Minehead, and 45 minutes’ drive from Taunton.

Our champagne tea was fabulous. Everything was exquisite, and all four of us had a wonderful afternoon. One friend was a patissier at The Savoy, so he knows his stuff, and he said Cross Lane House was better. Thank you for a memorable experience. We will be back soon.

Amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and the added touch of a birthday card just toppped the day.

We came to Cross Lane House for afternoon tea as part of a hen weekend. The building itself is beautiful, full of history and very inviting. We were made to feel very welcome, and the staff were very attentive. The food itself was amazing, everything from the sandwiches to the macaroons and scones was beautifully presented. It was great value for money, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon here. Thank you for helping to make it so special!

A very warm welcome from a genial host who had even lit the woodburner for us. The afternoon tea was superb and plentiful. A second pot of fresh tea was provided without being asked for and showed the host's attention to little details that made the whole experience so enjoyable. We'd like to stay here next time we're in the area.
