Restaurant description

Awarded an AA Rosette, The Brasserie Bar & Restaurant at Crewe Hall offers a contemporary twist on classic flavours. Afternoon Tea at Crewe Hall is a luxurious treat for those wanting to experience classic dining tradition in a quintessentially British setting.

The grill menu at Crewe Hall showcases prime cuts of meat such as sirloin steak served homemade chips, or roast bone marrow with braised beef brisket and blue cheese. Elsewhere on the menu find the likes of pan-fried sea bass with potato gnocchi, and sticky toffee pudding with sea salt caramel ice cream.

All the traditional treats are served on the Afternoon Tea at Crewe Hall menu, and come beautifully presented. To start, there are delicate finger sandwiches with gourmet fillings like poached chicken with lime and coriander mayonnaise, and English salted cucumber with apple crème fraîche, moving on to home-baked plain and sultana scones served with Cornish clotted cream and red berry preserves.

A luxurious treat in historic surroundings, Crewe Hall is 8 minutes' drive from Crewe Rail Station.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

Superb location. Lovely ambience in the old hall. Afternoon tea was very presentable and the choice of teas outstanding.

Booked for afternoon tea as an anniversary event, we were meet by an excellent member of staff who showed us to our seats and was very attentive throughout. The food was very good as was the tea which was served in the traditional way.

Overall really overpriced for what you get. Small selection of sandwiches and sweet which were tasty, but not worth the price. Tea was excellent, but coffee was weak and tasteless.

Was seated quickly but had to ask to see their non alcoholic drinks menu which they didn’t have. The waiter was kind enough to improvise a non alcoholic cocktail. The starters and main were delicious but unfortunately the desserts let the experience down. The creme brûlée was undercooked in the middle and the chocolate mint mousse wasn’t light as expected but more like chocolate cake batter which was heavy and unappetising. They were left unfinished. Took a while to get our bill and had to ask 3 different wait staff. I’d recommend to friends but tell them to avoid dessert.

The food is excellent and the staff can’t do enough for you, in my opinion it is a lovely atmosphere. The evening meals were lovely and the breakfast are fabulous and there is plenty of choice. Something for everyone.

Have been for afternoon tea several times in the past. More and more places are serving it So compared with others I’m afraid your standards have slipped. The room was cold. The waitress was very pleasant. The cost is £10 more than say Whitemore tea rooms and the food was uninviting but it it is lovely to sit in beautiful surroundings

We didn't experience dining in the restaurant, as we had booked Afternoon Tea. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and the location. We would certainly consider returning at a later date.

Excellent service from start to finish. The scones were a bit doughy in the middle.
