The restaurant was very quiet and the staff were very attentive, we had chicken supreme which was nicely presented and we also had passion fruit and mango cheesecake, both dishes were very nice.

Food was good but too much turkey, soup delicious and dessert was nice. Service was first class. Have dined here 3 times at
    festive time and no complaints.

a charming restaurant-we had the steak and although service was a little slow it was well worth the wait.

I'll begin with the positive comments! The food was delicious with generous helpings. and we were seated by the window overlooking Princes Street and the German Markets, it couldn't have been better. However ... one crucial negative comment. In the dining room, there was a party of around 40 or 50 people, and right away, I would have thought they should have had a private room for their party. And it was a party as they had their own 'awards' ceremony to much laughter and mirth. This in itself is harmless but we felt that we had gate-crashed someone else's event. We couldn't hear each other speaking and it was very frustrating We raised this with the restaurant manager who agreed with us and was very quick to reduce our bill by a sizeable percentage. So in essence, it didn't spoil our evening but it would make me re-think coming back. It's a shame that the food was 10/10 but the organisation and the bookings management was 0/10.

Had the festive menu, turkey with trimmings. Turkey was ok, the rest was overcooked and/or tasteless. Waiter was unbelievably inexperienced, told us she was no drinker, and therefore knew nothing about wine to go with the food. She also claimed they had no port to go with the dessert, it was on the menu, so we had to ask the other waiter to get it for us. Maybe they should give their employees a minimum of training before lettingvthem handle guests? Stayed at the hotel for three nights, the breakfast was good, though.
