Crab Tavern City is a seafood restaurant and bar that boasts a menu that merges New York style with classic west coast American fare. Choose from an abundance of hero crab dishes, rolls and salads, as well as more refined dishes from the classic grill and seafood selection.

The Crab Tavern menu features signature dishes like crab 'n' waffle, crab Caesar salad, and the perfect-for-sharing 'Tavern Platter': a steamy mix of crispy soft shell crab, charred corn, crab tartare, whitebait and squid. Elsewhere on the menu, discover crab-filled rolls with tastes of California, Maryland and China. The soft shell crab burger is the 'hero' dish at Crab Tavern served with Old Bay seasoned fries. If crab isn't your thing, there’s also vegetarian & non-seafood options, with dishes such as baby beetroot salad, Portobello burger & spatchcock poussin.

Dessert is an expectantly indulgent affair ranging from homemade fruit pies served with organic blueberry ice cream to the more adventurous pecan, chilli & maple tart with lime tequila sorbet. Much-loved classics including baked cheesecake, whilst sundaes are sweetly reminiscent of an American diner.

In the foodie hub of Broadgate Circle, Crab Tavern adds some American seaside glamour to the City. Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away.

I really enjoyed the starters (I had crab croquette and my partner had crab and waffles), but the mains were a let down. The Lobster burger was very bland with a weird texture. Not sure if I'd visit again, I was really looking forward to it but was such a let down.

Food was very average - with a set menu expected it to be decent. Took twice to explain everything to the staff.

The restaurant is in a central location which is surrounded by other restaurants and bars. And literally a minute away from Liverpool Street station. Table availability is good and the service was attentive. The soft shell crab burger was really good and so was the peppered squid. That they had a fixed price menu on a Friday night was a nice touch but the house platters looked so good so consider those.

The mussels were not fresh at all. At least 1/4 of them was not even open so inedible. A friend had some kinda brown soup which tasted very bad. We told the waiter, he took the soup back and put it off the bill. I honestly do not think the fish was fresh but more like frozen food.

Great starters and service.... The crab'n'waffle and sliders were excellent. We were very disappointed with the main of mussels I was bite wine. They were bland, tasted strange and had quite a few unopened mussels.

If you're a seafood addict, this is your restaurant. Everything on the menu sounds so delicious it took us quite a while to decide. We finally went for the oysters to share, one starter each (raviolo and fried squid) and then the hot platter. Everything so yummy. To drink, a beautiful New Zealand rosé. Another plus: They're gluten free friendly! They even have gluten free bread. Will definitely come back to try everything else on the menu.

Booked to take my kids for what I thought was a relaxing Seaford dinner in the city.
What I got was anything but relaxing
Firstly it was incredibly hot to the extent we were sweating as soon as we sat down.
When we arrived we had to wait 5 mins to be seen as a customer was arguing with the staff, so not a great start
Once sat down we waited for our waiter to arrive. 10
Mins later he turned up and took our drinks order which was a pint of coke and a pint of OJ and lemonade. Another 15 mins later the drinks arrived but we got a half of coke.
It was so hot we drank them straight away and then struggled to get anyone's attention to reorder another 10 in fact
I went to the bar in the end but it was just as bad with 18 people waiting and only 1 person serving. There were 2 others behind the bar but one was sticking up and one was collecting glasses so I returned to the table. Another 5 mins before a waiter noticed my arm waiving
Finally got another round and ordered food along with a jug of water with ice
What arrived was a bottle of water no ice
Struggles to get waiters attention yet again
Forgot to mention all the time we were there that a party of 8 were seated next to us and there was constant swearing and loud in appropriate remarks
At no point were they asked to curb swearing or quieten down for other patrons.
It was 45 mins after we arrived before second set of drink arrived by which time we were gasping. Asked for glass of ice at this point when to be fair turned up straight away.
Starter turned up 15mins after we ordered so can't complai. We ordered the crab platter and the soft shell crab was very tasty. The other items on the platter could have been crabsticks for all I know as they were pretty tasteless
Main course came fairly swiftly but was missing the chips we ordered
We had the hot platter which had no mention of a sauce on the menu but i presumed it would not be plain which it was.
I can't go on as no space but not great experience
