Added daughters name and birthday to booking details, thinking they would add something to table, like writing on board or even on reserved sign...nothing!
Couldn't fault carvery or staff serving food, but ordered veg tortellini dish, more like a watery cream coloured soup than cheese sauce...big disappointment and couldn't eat it with knife and fork, no server came back to check on meals after serving, unable to show them and explain.
Venue overly hot, no air con or fans used, couldn't get out wuick enough, didn't even serve the birthday cake we had brought.

3rd time to eat here. It was very very busy as it was bank holiday weekend but still managed to book table for 2. Carvery was fantastic as usual and pleased both my husband who is a carnivour and me....being a =vegetarian!!!!! hard to do but plenty of choice and really fresh and hot. Staff helpful and it is excellent value.

We went specifically for the Carvery. Great value for money. Helpful friendly staff. An enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

First visit for myself and friends, who live locally. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food and thought it good value. For the mains we had steak, fish and chicken. After starters also we were unable (unfortunately) to manage a sweet. The service we received was amazing. We were looked after throughout by "Charlie", who was a delight. So friendly and efficient. She is a credit to you!! When I am in the area next I will definitely be going back.

It was our second visit to The Cookhouse and we wouldnt go again.
    45 min wait for food.
We had gone for a birthday meal (7 people in total) and 2 people had ordered a carvery, the carvery's that we ordered were lovely. The rest of the food was awful, the potato wedges were soaked in grease, as was the bean burger (used a napkin to squeeze the excess grease) out of the burger. One person in the party had ordered a giant mixed grill and the meat was tough, chewy and full of grisel.
The only saving grace was the child's meal of sausage and chips (the sausage was lovely).
I had ordered a black coffee, it took 45mins to arrive? I have no idea why.
