I booked Conan Doyles because we were going to the theatre in the evening it's a nice place good views, food was alright, but we did order a sweet but ended up cancelling because it took to long and we had to leave. Apart from that quite good.

Within easy reach of Cathedral Lane & Queens Street, the Conan Doyle is a homely, traditional pub serving classic British favourites. The pub is located close to Picardy Place, the birthplace of its namesake – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – in front of which stands a large bronze statue of his greatest creation: Sherlock Holmes.

With Nicholson’s pubs first established in 1873, the fleet has become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality stock of ales. Constantly-featuring recipes are bolstered by a seasonally-changing range of specials on the Nicholson’s menu, with favourites including home-breaded chicken Kiev, or a sharing cottage pie. Also enjoy old-school desserts and nourishing breakfasts.

At the Nicholson’s bar, expect to find 25 guest ales changing with the seasons, a resident cask master, and carefully-matched ale and food pairing suggestions. Compiled with equal care, the Conan Doyle drinks list features easy drinking wines, artisan soft drinks and classic cocktail mixes.

The Conan Doyle in Edinburgh is a 9-minute walk from Waverley Rail Station.
