I like this place so much, that one day I had breakfast, lunch & dinner there!

Surprised that the fish and chips only available on Fridays anyway had already run out at 5.30pm and the waiter failed to let us know before we bought a bottle of wine and had the option to move to another restaurant. At least the fish cakes instead were tasty and presented with a dressed leaf salad. Worth paying extra for the chunky chips. Good choice of wines

We booked a table for 5.30pm as a pre-concert meal, and as this was the only time available [...]before 8.00pm. Surprised therefore that the restaurant section was totally empty, though the front of the cafe was busy. During an hour or so, only one other group came into the restaurant. It seemed, therefore, strange. We took the waiter's recommendation of rump steak, which was rather tough for me, though my wife's steak was fine. The wine recommended was good. Can't speak too highly otherwise of the service - very attentive waiter, very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. But then we were the only people in the restaurant. The ambience looked a bit faded. Later, we came back for a drink in the bar section. Not that many people, but once again, delightfully friendly service, and the decor very pleasant and creative. This seems like a brasserie/bar which has different faces (the bar was packed when we came for a meal at 5.30pm). If the waiter who served us reads this - sorry about the mixed review. Your service was five star!
