Dating back hundreds of years, Cock & Pheasant is a wonderfully rustic pub, packed with rural charm. The menu offers a great selection of hearty international dishes and cask ales, and outside there is a huge seating area on the grass, as well as a children's play area.

Dishes from around the world are served on the Cock & Pheasant menu, starting with generous sharing platters of prawn and lobster cocktail, oven-baked garlic and cheese mushrooms, pâté and rustic bread. There are stone-baked pizzas covered in premium toppings, and a grill selection offering prime cuts of steak, as well as juicy burgers. British classic recipes are also a popular choice here, and include beer battered fish and chips, and steak and mushroom pie.

A great selection of indulgent desserts are served at Cock & Pheasant Macclesfield, such as Eton mess, melba crème brûlée, and Belgian chocolate brownie. Cask ales and craft beers are on tap at the bar, as well as artisan spirits and fine wines.

An ideal rural setting for a hearty Sunday roast, Cock & Pheasant is a family-friendly pub only 3 minutes' drive from Prestbury Rail Station.

...very very very slow, terribly disappointing Mother's Day dinner. We booked for 17.30, and arrived approx 17.25, table wasn't ready, eventually finished the meal at 20.00, mains arrived at eventually at 19.00, with a 6y and 9y old this really wasn't the dinner I planned. Further more our first desert option wasn't available and the second choice was frozen in the middle (it was exchanged but this added more time to the meal) Given the limited menu choice the food or service wasn't the usual high standard. I would imagine most people booked a table on Mother's Day and we expected it to be busy but also expected that it would be staffed accordingly. We eat here regularly 3-4 times a month, but will be considering other options in future. Shame.

Really helpful staff and a good location. Very child friendly. Was disappointed by the vegetarian choices on the menu as they were not what was advertised on your website. Instead there was only a special set menu for Mothers Day which was very limited for veggies. If we had known this we would have tried elsewhere. Roast dinners were ok but not recommendable.

Rather a mixed experience. We arrived a few minutes late, the restaurant was not especially busy, but we had to wait while our table was "prepared". Then when we tried to give our order, we discovered that two of the "small or large" plate items were "off", although we had not been advised of this when we were given the menus or soup information. This meant that two of us had to make our choices in a hurry.

When the food came, it was very enjoyable, and although it was baked potato and not roast, with the Roast Chicken Dinner, it was a fresh and healthy meal, which was what I wanted. Huge portion of chicken. We all enjoyed our meals (Hunters Chicken, Fish and Chips) although the person who had wanted to have a small fish and chips had to have a large one off the main menu. The desserts were also very enjoyable, I would not normally order ice cream, but was tempted by the Baileys ice cream that came with the Chocolate Brownie, and it was delicious.

Then when we came to pay, there was a mix up, and an even longer stay at the bar than when we arrived. We were given the promised 25% reduction, one couple paid cash, one used a credit card and it was then that the problem came to light. Apparently we had been given another table's bill!

So, lovely food, something of an unusual experience. Hopefully the problems were a one-off, as I would recommend giving the Cock and Pheasant a try on account of the food.
