Fantastic calm setting. Food was excellent. The pepper sauce was beautiful to accompany the steak. The venison burger was perfect

An enjoyable ‘Pudding Night’. Slight tweaks made since last time, which made it a better experience overall. Food was lovely. Would be great to have a list of the evening’s desserts on the table so you know what you are eating. Would be nice if the free tea/coffee was offered when the final dessert plates were cleared away. There was a strong waft of cigarette smoke from one of the waiters as one set of desserts was set down - perhaps a cigarette break part way through service is not the best idea!

Lovely dining experience in pleasant surroundings. Offered different menu as not booked as Spa package. Beer battered fish - batter was a bit over done, tartare sauce not fresh enough. Chips were excellent as well as crushed peas. Creme caramel a bit dense but biscotti biscuit unnecessary. Additional supplements added to some meals. Staff were polite accommodating and attentive and did not wait long for our meal. Will certainly eat there again!

The restaurant is a very pleasant room and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful. However, service was very slow on this occasion. We were seated at 12.30 pm as per our booking and it took half an hour for someone to come and take our order. The restaurant was quiet when we went in, but had filled up by the time we had our order taken, so then there was a wait for the food to come out. Fortunately, we were in no rush and were just chatting, so initially didn't realise quite how long the wait was. The food was very good, although I wouldn't personally order the chickpea and sweetcorn burger again. Highly recommend the meringue pie with butterscotch filling though. We were only offered the a la carte menu not the menu with the lower priced lunches on it, but perhaps that was only available in the bar area. If so, this was not made clear. Would dine in the restaurant again when attending a spa day.

We had a lovely relaxed lunch. Quality of the food was good. I tend to have either a sandwich or a salad at lunch. The salads are imaginative, the sandwiches less so. I think a bit more effort and thought could be put into fillings and breads used. Also more variety in available soft drinks would be good-bring back J2O, The quality of the coffee has gone down. It's supposed to be Starbucks, which whilst not my favourite high street chain is usually OK. If it is the same coffee maybe there are storage issues or machine cleaning issues? The staff were very helpful and accommodated our request for an earlier lunch without any problem. Service was prompt and friendly. Outside dining is available but sadly the smokers make this not an option which is a great shame. I've also noticed more children around generally-Hmmm-stricter controls? Or ideally none at all. It's a shame dinner isn't served anymore but "all day lunch" is an extremely good thing as I often use the restaurant for lunch in between surgeries

Superb meal. Good varied menu options with more than usual vegetarian and vegan options. Dish of the day was the Coconut, Chocolate and Lime Vienetta. Absolutely delicious.

AMAZING - the food was simply stunning, every course was divine including the amuse bouche and the after dinner cake pop with tea was a lovely touch and delicious. I hope the vegan night becomes a regular event.

The soup was really delicious - roasted onion and cider! it would really have made a meal on its own. Dessert was a bit too sweet for me - 3 scoops of pear water ice. Venison burger was very good.
