Set in Covent Garden at the heart of London's Theatreland, Circus is an innovative combination of a Pan American restaurant and a West End cocktail bar.

Diners are also entertained by the added bonus of quirky yet glamourous bursts of cabaret performance. These perfectly complement the stylish and surreal interior, created by British designer Tom Dixon. Meanwhile in the kitchen, celebrated chef Nik Boik has revived classic American dishes ranging from Mac and Cheese to Spatchcock Caesar Salad. Shutter windows open up to reveal the excitement of the kitchen to the dining room. Circus is open for brunch and dinner, and drinking and dancing until late. Special pre and post-theatre menus are also available to complete your trip to the West End. Theatres near to this restaurant include The New London Theatre and The New Ambassador's Theatre.

Please note that guests must be over 21 years old. Dress code is smart casual.

We dined early evening on a Saturday and the restaurant soon filled up, but it wasn't noisy and had a relaxed, intimate vibe. We weren't rushed and stayed slightly over the 2 hour slot. We saw 4 different performances and we enjoyed them all. The food and cocktails were divine. It isn't cheap but I felt it was worth it and makes a nice treat. Ps. Were we the only ones who didn't see the hidden entrance? We walked past it 4 times!

We went for the pre-theatre menu. At first we couldnt find the restaurant because it was behind what looked like seedy heavy metal doors. Once inside it still looked dingy and dark. We had booked the pre theatre menu which we downloaded at the same time as booking. On arrival we were told that particular menu hadnt been used since Dec 2010. There wasnt really anything on the menu that we liked and they wouldnt let us have any other options. The main course we did have was only average and the desserts didnt really have any taste at all. There was only another couple in there as well as us but service was very slow. There must have been about 15+ staff around the restaurant. According to the internet we should have had circus acts going on around us but there was nothing. We were utterly disappointed with our experience there and will never be going again. Begrudged paying the service charge for something that was definitely below average.
