Set in a magnificent former auction house, Cigalon brings the fine cuisine of Provence to London. Cigalon also host monthly events, with a 5 Courses Test Drive menu on the first Monday, and a Wine Dinner on the fourth Tuesday.
Showcasing a classy selection of French recipes, the Cigalon menu sees adventurous flavours served alongside simple yet succulent grill options. Favourites at Cigalon Chancery Lane include roasted suckling pig belly with caramelised peach and butternut squash, or a sublimely fresh market fish of the day served straight from the grill.
For more informal dining, the Baranis bar offers a laidback vibe, where guests can enjoy a bespoke cocktail and Mediterranean-style bar snacks. Plush, cocoon-style booth seating, subdued lighting and exposed brickwork makes Baranis a luxurious yet intimate setting.
From the team behind Michelin-starred Club Gascon, Cigalon and Baranis is also home to the UK's only indoor petanque court. Chancery Lane Tube Station is 7 minutes’ walk away.

The food was delicious, but this was unfortunately undermined by poor service.

We went to the Moroccan themed food and matched wines evening. All of the dishes were well presented and tasty, and the lamb was cooked beautifully such that it melted in the mouth.

I have been to Cigalon several times before. We had one of their special wine dinners which are something to watch for. It is exceptional value (£49.50) as it includes matched wines which on this occasion were Moroccan from a vineyard near Volubilis (Domaine de la Zouina). The sommelier is charming and dealt well with a fellow diner's efforts to get more than her share of wine). Grilled octopus and pomegranate salad was tender with well balanced flavours. It was well matched with the Volubillia Gris (a blend of Caladoc Mourvedre and Marcelan -minimum skin contact). The next course of "baked brick sardine" was not a classic "Bric" but a boned sardine in a tube of filo pastry - pleasant but not enhanced by serving with the Volubillia rouge (cabernet sauvignon, syrah tempranillo )- that enhanced the strong oily fish character of the sardine which was a crash rather than a match. The main dish of spiced braised lamb with bulgur wheat (not sure why they didn't use couscous) and dried fruit (slightly gritty figs) was tender, flavoursome and a well judged quantity. That was well matched with the Epicuria rouge - 100% Syrah with 18 months in oak). For some reason it was thought that a dry Chardonnay (Epicuria - 6 months in oak) would enhance a dessert of peaches, cinnamon ice cream (perfect) and argan oil. It didn't - but I drank the wine separately with pleasure. Good coffee. A very fine experience - we have already booked for the next wine dinner in August.

Excellent food and service and exceptional value for money in a beautiful light-filled setting. Went for a lunch with friends who all commented on how much they enjoyed the delicious food in the fixed price lunch menu. Highly recommended!

We are a group of 5 “ladies who lunch”, this was the first time we had all eaten at Cigalon and each one of us loved it.
We chose 3 dishes from the special menu, all delicious, however I think the desserts won. Some raced over the rose flavoured ice cream, I am a chocoholic so the flourless chocolate cake won my vote
The service, the decor and the ambiance were all terrific.
We will be back!!very easy to book and also responded very quickly to my query

Nice location, good ambiance, good food. Mackerel starter delightful. Would only say that the portion size on the 'offer' menu were a little small.
