Restaurant description

Set in a magnificent former auction house, Cigalon brings the fine cuisine of Provence to London. Cigalon also host monthly events, with a 5 Courses Test Drive menu on the first Monday, and a Wine Dinner on the fourth Tuesday.

Showcasing a classy selection of French recipes, the Cigalon menu sees adventurous flavours served alongside simple yet succulent grill options. Favourites at Cigalon Chancery Lane include roasted suckling pig belly with caramelised peach and butternut squash, or a sublimely fresh market fish of the day served straight from the grill.

For more informal dining, the Baranis bar offers a laidback vibe, where guests can enjoy a bespoke cocktail and Mediterranean-style bar snacks. Plush, cocoon-style booth seating, subdued lighting and exposed brickwork makes Baranis a luxurious yet intimate setting.

From the team behind Michelin-starred Club Gascon, Cigalon and Baranis is also home to the UK's only indoor petanque court. Chancery Lane Tube Station is 7 minutes’ walk away.

A nice French restaurant in central London. We had a deal for a set menu. The choice was good and the food excellent. Good service too.

Absolutely cracking bookatable deal for the 3 course menu and cocktail for £20. the main courses of duck with salsify and bream with jerusalem artichokes were both loved by our group. The flourless chocolate cake was simply delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and all 5 of our party thoroughly enjoyed the meal . Waitress said that the set menu changes monthly. Get the chocolate cake while you can !

Very impressed with the fixed price menu- everyone was pleased with their choices, and as a vegetarian I think the pumpkin and chestnut soup and risotto were above average veggie dishes. The ‘cocktail ‘ exceeded expectations as it was unusual, being a sort of kir, but made with a home made herb syrup. Only slight negative was the very expensive wine list- could add some more reasonable choices.

Four friends out for a relaxed dinner. Generally the food was of a high standard although portion sizes could have been bigger. Impressive wine list with a good range of wines at different price levels and something to suit every palate. The sea bream with hazelnuts was delicious and the flourless chocolate cake highly recommended. Service was brusque.

Food was really good; waiting service was very average and flat unfortunately - food and drinks were delivered timely but there was a lack of whatever interest to make it a pleasant experience.
